Flyers definitely pay to get rid of Coots contract. And, if Torts and Coots are fractured, they definitely pay and retain TK. Dead money after next year is almost zero so they can take 1.75 if necessary.

I would love Couturier as a fit on the Bruins - but not sure the Bruins should take on that terrible contract (even retained). He has six years left. Sign him for cheap once he's bought out. The Bruins don't want unmovable contracts on their roster.

The Flyers don't need the cap relief from that contract right now and retaining 1.75 for 6 years will bleed into their contending years as well. If they want to get rid of his contract they can do it later on when the cap is higher which means it will be cheaper to dump his contract and they won't need the picks as much. Also he is the captain of the team so he will not be going anywhere for a while.
