I’d prefer if it was Rosen instead of Ostlund, Sabres have a lot of high end wing prospects/young wingers (Quinn, Peterka, Benson, Rosen, Kulich, Savoie who could be a center but i view more as a wing in the NHL), and 3C looks like a long term need, but if Ostlund is what it takes to get it done, I’d be open to it.

seven? not counting free agents (jokiharju is def gone): dahlin, Power, Byram, Samuelsson. I count 4 there. Miss me with calling RJ and Clifton NHL d-men. RJ got torched in Rochester. And Clifton? His highlight reel this year was how he looked like us when trying to skate.

Also should remember that Ruff loves to balance his pairs so there's a negative chance that when they move jokiharju he will be totally okay running all lefty top 4 and clifton getting more minutes.

OP, I have no trouble believing the Sabres/Ruff would be interested in Marino and vice versa, but I highly doubt they move Ostlund to make it happen. Not unless it brought someone better than Bastian along with Marino. Not an issue of value but at the moment amongst the 1st rounders in the system he's the one with the "best" shot at being an actual C in the NHL. Idk if they can let go of that for anything other than a legit C coming back.
