Miky is a cap dump, Hronek is of 0 interest. Hoglander is a start, but need 1st, Podkolzin, and maybe a 2nd in there instead of a meh D man and a cap dump. And drop the 5th, but maybe include someone like Drury.

Way tooo much for Vancouver to give up. I like Necas, there is a ton of skill and potential there but he is also a flawed player that has averaged 57pts per 82 games the last 3 season and sounds like he wants 7+ mil.

I'm all for acquiring him but Canes fans acting like they have Jack Eichel as an asset here.

I would agree 100% here man. I wouldn't mind losing those pieces and hoping to get a fresh start for Necas. Love me some Nils but their window is the next 3 years with Hughes under a cheap contract. Is Nils going to rise his stock that much to have a line that any team would struggle to shut down? I'm not so sure of that. After watching the 2nd half and playoffs, offensive firepower is exactly what Vancouver needs.

Necas starts with a 7 at a min, but it’s hard to say. I can assure you he’s asking for 8+…similar to Hronek. I think term is a big question for Necas.

I prefer to not be lumped together with the rest of Canes fans. I think this is a bad trade for the Canucks. But hey, at least you’re getting a 5th with Necas.

I agree Necas should be a target but personally I wouldn't move Hoglander to dump Mikheyev (with salary retention). Honestly just better off buying out Mikheyev if we're going to retain that much and still pay a prime asset to get rid of him.

Necas and Hronek trade value will be very similar. Both are talented players and pending RFA's with high contract demands. Both have some undeniable flaws that are going to make those contracts a bit risk.

I think you can argue whether the canes would be interested in Hronek (they only have 40yr old burns and rookie Morrow on the right side right now so I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have some level of interest in a 26yr old top 4 dman). I think you could argue about adding in a mid round pick or prospect on either side as well but ultimately the value between the two is pretty equal give or take some minor pieces.

Lol yes fair enough. It's not everyone. I've been on the canes subreddit and it's much more realistic there. There are just a few very vocal canes fans on this site that can be super unrealistic.

Always down to hear realistic insight from other markets. As a west coast fan, I admit I am not as well versed on these guys as you. Just hear the same rumblings the rest of the league hears.

Agree Necas probably looking for 7+ but also wondering who would actually give it to him. Undeniably skilled and has shown flashes but also very inconsistent to be given that type of money long term. Will be interested to see how it plays out - could see them letting him negotiate with teams potentially and finding out he’s not getting $50M guaranteed anywhere lol

Also think Guentzel is looking for a deal in the upper 50Ms, so this is probably light.

I do like the idea of Hronek for Necas… I wonder if it could be had as a 1for1 trade. Both players fill needs for each team. Vancouver gets a top 6 forward to play with Pettersson, and Carolina gets a top 4 RHD to replace Pesce, assuming he leaves. Also, a top 4 of Slavin, Hronek, Nikishin, and Morrow is pretty good for years to come.
