With that said, if that’s all that it costs to acquire Hronek (it’s not), I’d like to think PIT accepts and then trades Karlsson.

However, none of that is happening. VAN should resign Hronek. If not, a team out there would certainly pay more to acquire him.

I feel like hes worth more that. That being said the pens dont really have a spit for Hronek as we already have EK and Tanger, so unless we move out EK I dont see us being interested.

Thanks! And I would probably agree. I admit the trade was just more of a formality because it's really hard for me to judge any trade in here accurately. I would prefer the defense I set up which is why I mocked a trade for him. More picks would definitely help in the system so I would be happy to have picks back.

He struggled down the stretch offensively and was too easily beaten below the dots. I'd like to see the length of guys like Myers, Zadorov, Soucy be the staples of this defense. That is key to shutting down guys like McDavid and MacKinnon. Tanev can fill Hronek's role offensively and add help more on the defensive side of the puck.

I think he probably is worth more too, but I admit fair trades are tough for me to evaluate. Just threw the trade in to round out the defense I'd like to see.

I'd take more for sure! Just want this defense by any means necessary. Save the money to round out a struggling top 6.

There is an age consideration here as well. I personally prefer Hronek to Myers, Zadarov even when you discuss salary, but I haven’t watched him as much as you have.

I think Boston is going to offer Lindholm 7 years, 8.5M AAV to entice him. I’d be surprised if Lindholm took less before FA.

I recommend keeping Hronek. If you dump Mikheyev then you can afford to bring back him, Lindholm, and Zadorov. Tanev can be had for at least $1 million less aav as well.

I could see that happening. I would match if I was Vancouver. Skip a similar move to Duclair signing and let Lindy/Petey play together. Maybe re-sign Blueger then? Lindy fits Tocchet's team so well and was huge down the stretch. Don't think you can afford to lose him.

Who is taking him? He's a PKer who is overpaid by 2.5 million. Afraid nobody takes him on.
