That's an overpay for Saros....just sign a UFA goalie and keep Minten and the first.
Just keep Marner for a year, then have cap space. PLD for six years.....potential horror for any team.
Webber isn't NHL. ready in October. ALL NHL teams need at least seven NHL capable Dmen.
Nothing in for Seattle.

I do think it’s an overpay for Saros but at the same time how many teams are gonna be in on him if he’s available? Seems like it’s gonna be the best package available to get him if he does get traded.

What's so special about one year of Saros??? Yes, it would be the best package that Preds would get, because it's an overpay.

Should Neimela be there instead of Voit?

That would be closer, but probably not enough to get Seattle to pull the trigger. The odds of Larsson being moved are very low in my opinion, considering how important he is to the Kraken. I'm hoping they extend him and keep him around for a few more years, but we'll see what happens there.

Even if he were to get traded, it would be in the scenario where Seattle is once again out of the playoffs at the deadline and are moving Larsson as a playoff rental, and top four RHD at the deadline cost a lot on the trade market. See the Savard deal from Columbus to Tampa Bay; Larsson could fetch at least that. I think it would take a premium asset plus a mid-tier secondary piece to pry Larsson away in that hypothetical reality; I like Niemelä as a prospect, but right now I view him as more of a high quality complement than a headliner.

He would be the guaranteed #1 G something TO never had plus the best goalie Toronto had in years. Assuming he would sign an extension I think an overpay would be justified. Especially if you could have a tandem of Saros and Woll.

Gretzky wasn't traded, he was sold.

Last I checked, they have outlawed player for cash transactions, so that's not relevant here.

The Oilers traded Gretzky to the LA Kings. yes there was cash involved but retained salary is no different

Gretzky, Marty McSorely (D) and Mike Krushelnyski (C/LW),

for

Jimmy Carson (C), Martin Gelinas (LW), the Kings first-round draft picks in 1989, 1991 and 1993, along with $15 million in cash

Maybe the trade above is not a fit but that does not mean Saros doesn't get moved This summer or trade deadline. Nashville can't just let him walk

There is an entire season to be played, he is our goalie. We are not just letting him walk, we are playing him for the season as he makes us a competitive team. TDL maybe but only if we're out of the race. Otherwise he becomes our own rental.

Retained salary is different.

Peter Pocklington sold Wayne Gretzky because he was running out of cash to keep the team afloat and was afraid he couldn't make payroll. Revenue sharing wasn't a thing back then. He didn't want to have to sell the team, so he sold the best player in history for cash.

He was chased out of Canada and lives in Palm Desert, and apparently still receives death threats to this day over that trade.
