I'm happy with this team, I don't think NJD does that trade tho. Big fan of bringing in Whitecloud for Chabby though, and I def would like to go after Hayton.

Devils will have enough big contracts soon on D between Hamilton, Luke, and Nemec that they shouldn't add another here for Chychrun wanting UFA money. OTT isn't getting back more or even as much as they traded for him at this point so I would lower your expectations.

Seven years for a 30 year old Montour just seems insane to me.

Ottawa traded the 12th overall pick, and 2 2nd rounders I believe. I was going by what Ottawa was expecting in return. A 1st, a ready prospect, and likely a 2nd or 3rd. Looking at Jersey's defense I think I agree, Jersey likely allows Nemec, Highes, Casey (very high on him, will be a beauty)....

3 years of Chychrun vs 1. You aren’t getting your money back

We got 1.5 seasons out of Chychrun.... 2.25 technically as we got him last year at the deadline. We were also obtaining a guy that was coming off an injury. Chychrun played all 82 games this season and was fairly productive. We won't get a 12th overall 1st rounder.... But a later 1st and a ready prospect is definitely a possibility, especially if he comes with an extension. O

Have to be realistic.... Ottawa would have to give him job security to get him here. Ottawa isn't a hot spot for UFA's. So Ottawa would have to give him a contract like that and hope the contract is solid for 5-6 years.
