Amongst a flurry of crap trades, that Marner proposal is a joke 😂. Better chance I play for the Leafs next year than Marner gets moved in division for scraps (we don’t need LHD and Husso is a cap dump) and a draft pick . Really don’t see Marner extending in Detroit so why would the Wings do this?

Yzerman likes players that are competitive. Marner doesn't apply.

I actually could see something like this happening. The Sharks will probably look to do the same thing they did with Duclair, picking up someone at the end of their contract with the chance to give them good minutes and then flip them at the deadline. At the very least, Fabbri would be an improvement over what Hoffman was (I know that's a low bar).

Justin holl is competitive now? I was told for years he was terrible and lazy and bad, but now he cant make a worse roster and is competitive? Wild stuff!

The marner deal is an easy no from Toronto. Dumping cap wont be so easy either.

The difference is that Duclair is a better player than Fabbri with a lower cap hit. Also, judging by how horrible the team was last year, I think Grier is going to take a different approach to offseason acquisitions this year.

Yzerman signed a plug RHD while his prospects marinate. Marner is paid as a core player, and repeatedly disappears when it matters.

Do continue to try to compare signing a plug to trading assets for a mammoth, though. tears of joy

Never mind that essentially all 7 of Yzerman's first round picks in Detroit had high markings for compete level. That's called a trend. wink

No, you said yzerman likes competitive players so it's on you to explain why neither of these guys are competitive despite yzerman signing one.
And what do 1st rounders have to do with this? If all 7 of these guys are so good and he only brings in competitive players why cant they even sneak into the playoffs when teams like Washington do? Sounds like a roster of guys who dissappear when it matters.

Tell me about all the super competitive RHDs that were available in UFA on short term deals last season. I'll wait for a list.

Oh wait, PIT and NYI fans already trying to dump Graves and Mayfield respectively. Should've signed one of them to a 6 or 7 year deal. tears of joy

Pretty sure there's plenty of dip****s criticizing his Kasper and Danielson picks who were rated highly, *Checks notes*, compete level.

Keep making dumb **** arguments, though. tears of joy
