Description
Lets hear it fanbases. The cries. The anguish. The never gonna happens.

I do think some of these are plausible. Ill break it down:

VAN takes Coots at 6M for 2C. Flyers have to do this if they are gunning for a 1C.
Laughton has to go as well, obviously.
Detroit probably could use a vet like Risto discounted. Lots of youth there.
Minny getting Cates at 3C plus drafting another young stud at 29. Probably Maxim Masse or Cole Beaudoin. And add more picks. Flyers can add more picks if deemed necessary.
OTT obtains TK at extension and Bobby Brink for Chyr, Greig, and BOS 1st. Drafts Dickinson and get a top 6 winger who can produce PPG on a solid team.

Flyers draft Catton, Eiserman, Mews. Bring over Michkov. Sign Draisaitl to be Michkov's Center. 2026-2027 Flyers will have 26M in cap space.

If Lindholm prices himself out of Van I could see this as a possibility so we can run 3 deep in C or could try him out with Pettersson.

I just can’t see us doing that even with how much I want TK to be a Senator. Our prospect pool is to crappy to miss out on a Catton/Dickinson/Parekh/Buium type dude and lose Greig who’s likely Timmys LW of the future.

It honestly feels like u guys are screwed from the outside looking in. It feels like you shouldn’t be rebuilding at this point because you have an aging core of guys and then young guys coming up and it feels like it’s going to be the same thing again where once these new guys are ready to compete all the mid 20’s guys now will be aging. It feels like you should be going all in or tearing it down instead it feels like ur caught in the middle.

It does feel like when Flyers had Voracek, G, and Coots while Farabee, Frost, TK were growing as players. It just didn't work.

Also, can we have G back if you are going to rebuild and Michkov comes over?

Let’s be real. Coots would still be a really good 2C. He looked really good up until February when he hit a wall which is pretty expected for playing 20+ minutes a night after missing 2 entire years. His only injury this year was a minor knock to his shoulder so he didn’t aggravate his back. He’s a great player and with the right retention would absolutely have a market.

This team is based in 2025-2026, if Coots plays the full 2024-2025 season with no major injuries and looks to be back to his old self there will be no injury questions with him being 2 years removed from being out.

If that happens and the Flyers are looking to move him next summer it won’t be if anyone is interested it will be how many teams are interested and what is the retention number that will make them interested.

U guys say Coots has no market then everyone makes 100 teams a day trying to trade Kampf and Reaves to any team on earth lol, a bit hypocritical don’t you think?

That’s exactly what it feels like. Most of ur big guys are starting to hit 25+ in age and ur drafting 18 year old kids, it just feels like the timeline won’t match. If anything you should be trading to tear it down and stack picks in this draft or trade that top pick they have to get an impact player to make the team that much better

I think this is why I am so confused by Buffalo. They have SO MANY PROSPECTS and not everyone has a spot. I definitely want Kulich or Savoie in my 2C spot next to Michkov. Im also after Vorofydev and Kent Johnson.

Detroit needs to remove a D or two before adding another overpriced one. Chiarot/Maata/Holl/Petry are on the roster. Adding Risto is just more of the same.

Doubt Vancouver would be interested in Couturier. His age and contract combination doesn’t fit the mold of the team they’re trying to build, I think they’d rather keep Garland who’s been amazing this year than take on the unnecessary risk of Couturier.

U guys? If you read my posts, I've said countless times that M NTC Kampf is not tradable. Also Leafs keep Reaves as he doesn't hurt the cap if he is demoted to Marlies
Couts. 6m X 6 for soon to be 32 year old. is too chancy a contract., I differ with your opinion. IMO he's hitting the very soon.

Would love to hear ur opinion on all of the UFAs that are going to get similar contracts in FA this offseason. Are those also too chancy? Or is it cause Coots had back surgery that looked like it never even happened this year? What happens when Marchessault and Stamkos get paid? Or Tarasenko or Kane? Coots may not be as offensively gifted as any of those guys but do any of them have a Selke trophy?

There certainly is a big difference in free agency isn't there. In this post, the Canucks had to give trade 4.9m Garland for 6m (retained) Couts. What's the point for the Canucks. Most Dmen are really chancy when their contracts run into mid 30s,. Somewhat the same for most forwards, but one coming off back surgeory it's even more of a gamble

By the way, this season Tarasenko...got a one year contract for 5m. Kane coming off an injury 2.75m for one year. If Couterier what would he get as UFA this season.....a one year contract?

I think a guy like Marchessault will be overpaid by a team that has cap and needs goal scoring...maybe Montreal at 7m. Stamkos could get more, but think he looking at the right situation, 7m tops.

If Coots can keep his health in check in 2024, I think you'll see his 6M contract for a 2C/3C will be good value as the cap goes up.

Additionally, Garland was added as a salary tradeoff. If you have another individual to trade, cool. Don't care.

Youre exactly right man. Once Dorion moved all those picks for Debrincat and Chych it was doomed. We suck, have no prospects, and have to give up 2025 or 2026 first in loaded classes frown

Literally what I was thinking has to likely happen. Brady, Chabot, Chych, unfortunately G and build around Tim, Sanderson, Pinto and Greig. Just get as many picks in the next two seasons and aim for playoffs in 2-3 years.

Ur basically a year behind the Flyers except the Flyers have no prize haul to bring in like Brady. TK will bring in a bit if they move him but I don’t even see them moving him

Yeah hopefully lol but don’t have much to go with him as of right now which is why I think we need to further tear it down. Yeah we have 4 1sts and 4 2nds in the next two years but we could trade TK, Laughton, and Farabee and probably add at least 3 more 1sts, another 2nd or two, and probably another solid prospect. You have 7 1sts and 5-6 2nds and suddenly you have a real rebuild and real timeline so that in 2 years when Michkov comes over u have prospects also ready to jump into the league and then they will have $26M projected in cap space to get big name guys that could be available like Kaprizov (Russian connection), Draisital, etc

There is no reason for Minnesota to do that trade. A crappy center and a 2nd to drop out of the top 13? Easy pass. Not close in value.
