We have, in spades, the kind of pieces that you take with those picks, and the prospects offered already, this isn't adding anything we don't have to our system, while it's subtracting a very big piece from our roster.
If this was Pittsburgh, or Boston, who's pipeline is barren, it would make sense. Anaheim has one of the strongest prospect pools in the league, we don't need more middle of the lineup talent, and certainly not at the cost of a top of the lineup player.
Trades have to work for both teams, this doesn't work for Anaheim, you have to give to get, and all you're giving is spare parts. You don't get to have your cake and eat it too.
