These just don't stop do they?

No impact piece, no Zegras, we don't care how many first round equivalent pieces you throw, we don't care how many late 1st round picks you throw.

6OA + Beck + Kovacevic
Reinbacher + 25 2nd
Slafkovsky

Select one with no modifications, or no Zegras trade.

Anderson can certainly bounce back he just doesn't fit the habs style which is why he struggled and hes there to make the money work barron has shown flashes of being a good dman and farrell could be flipped but in this situation if Anaheim doesnt believe that the habs will improve they could essentially get a high first two late firsts and a second on top of the other prospects added here and if anderson has a bounce back season he could also be flipped for assets but if not he only has three years left which will be up at the start of Anaheims contention window

So you dont think the habs 2025 first and second with no protections winnipegs first and the habs third this year with some other decent prospects could be impactful barron and farrell are still very young with lots of time to develop those picks could be high next year if the habs dont significantly improve and anderson could bounce back with Anaheim since he'll fit their system much better

For what’s already like the 5th time today responding to this unoriginal MTL pipe dream despite it only being the afternoon:

ANA has no reason to trade Zegras unless the 11% odds of Celebrini fall in their favor.

Even if they do, Ducks pass on this hodgepodge.
Anderson = Hugely negative value at his cap
Barron = Not at all interesting for ANA, he’s a bottom 4 RD prospect behind Luneau who’s already in our system and loved by Verbeek
Farrell = The least likely player in MTL’s org for Verbeek to have any interest in
Random ‘meh’ picks

We're aware of all the pieces you've offered, we have equivalent pieces already in our system, several of them, we don't need to be adding more, over overpaid bottom 6 pieces. What we do need is a Zegras, or Zegras equivalent piece.

Ducks do not want a PROJECT. Anderson is NEGATIVE VALUE. If Anderon/Gallagher/Dvorak/Armia is part of any trade including Zegras IT WILL BE REJECTED.

I’m super glad you like the value of all those assets. The same reason you’re happy to let them go for Zegras is why we don’t want them for him

By the way, as a general rule of thumb. If you find yourself trying to sell why something is a good idea for the other party, it’s usually not boding well for that discussion/negotiation

We have, in spades, the kind of pieces that you take with those picks, and the prospects offered already, this isn't adding anything we don't have to our system, while it's subtracting a very big piece from our roster.

If this was Pittsburgh, or Boston, who's pipeline is barren, it would make sense. Anaheim has one of the strongest prospect pools in the league, we don't need more middle of the lineup talent, and certainly not at the cost of a top of the lineup player.

Trades have to work for both teams, this doesn't work for Anaheim, you have to give to get, and all you're giving is spare parts. You don't get to have your cake and eat it too.

yes but zegras had an awful year his value is as low as ever and if pat verbeek doesnt think zegras will be a part of the future for Anaheim then you wont get back as much as you think you should

Anaheim needs a TOP 6 forward, and a top RHD.

Slav/Dach or Reinbacher fill those needs, BUT IT WILL DESTROY what Montreal currently has. Zegras to Montreal is just not going to happen.

Stop beating a dead horse.

Im actually not happy about getting rid of our 2025 first I think its a risky move considering our teams injury history, the fact that we have been bottom 5 for the last 3 season and since zegras had a horrible season then adding the other assets on top makes it even more risky

Pay more attention, Zegras was injured all season with the same injury that Couture had this year that keeps him out. Zegras breaking his ankle was a blessing in disguise for him to heal. Corbin just was praising Zegras on how he changed his game how they were asking along with those 8 points in 8 games to end the year healthy, we are very happy to keep him

I can understand that for 2-3 guys on every roster. Honestly, at first I didn't see Zegras being that type of guy for the Ducks, thought it would be more McTavish, Carlsson and Pavel

First rule of assett management, you never sell low, he's still under contract for two more years, and his RFA rights are still intact after that. We have time to pump his tires if we want to trade him.

I mean this is all just speculation and I think if this was done with any player on any team the fans of the team would not go for it without an overpay but trades like this do happen look the deal for dach or even the mark stone trade to vegas it can happen espically when the team doesnt like player or when the players value is really which seems to be zegras's situation right now

It’s how it works with any core young piece. ANA just has more of them than most. Take a look at other young, high draft capital teams like BUF and they probably have a similar number of them

Well I can tell you what doesn't happen is trades like these, ever.

No impact piece, no Zegras, no more discussion.
