Sorokin's relatively pedestrian numbers this season are a very straightforward demonstration of why goalies don't get have that high of trade value. Nobody's moving a franchise cornerstone, star winger, and captain for any goalie. Same goes for a 1D with future Norris potential. you don't move guys top skaters where you know what you're gonna get for a goalie who could be a superstar or could be literally just average, and there's no way of knowing which you're gonna get. he's a fantastic goalie, but that simply doesn't happen

A few comments:
1. Brady is not a franchise player. Don't get that twisted. He's not even top 5. In no particular order, Marner, Mathew Tkachuk, Rantanen, Kucherov and Pasternak are all better. A really good argument can be made that Brady isn't even top 10.
2. I think Sanderson is great, but you're contradicting yourself. Your argument against Sorokin is that you don't know what you're going to get, yet, you say Sanderson has Norris "potential"...good argument can be made that Sorokin is more established than Sanderson. Past 2 seasons, his numbers were among the league's best. This year was a down year, but their entire d-core was depleted...

considering Sorokin and Vasi are getting their asses handed to them in the playoffs, a team dont need a top 5 G to win....Marty Brodeur said it himself, Gs in the curent NHL are worth very little because you dont know what your going to get from them year in and year out.
