I'm so over the bad goalie trade post to and from NJ

Its the same ole trades from last offseason man. I feel your pain man. Ullmark will go for a 25 1st at max and maybe a mid prospect.

As not a fan of either, I'd personally be stunned if one year of a goalie got anyone Mercer.

I’d be more over losing due to having a bad goalie. Vitek showed his true colours this season once you guys lost 2 of your best dmen in graves and severson.

You guys need a true starting goalie, that is your missing key to success once you can beat the injury bug.

But acquiring a starter is gonna be expensive especially if Ullmark comes with an extension.

But be my guest and overpay for a 35yr old markstrom or run with Allen as your starter that will get you far. There isn’t a single starting goalie in UFA this season, Talbot is your best option and he’s also 35/36 so go ahead run a very mid tandem and ruin some of your best years with your core.

I think Ullmark knows what team needs a goalie and has put most them on his NMC, he wants an extension so he can have a secured home for more than 1 season. I guarantee you Boston will allow any team to negotiate an extension pre trade if he will waive to go there.

Makes sense. Still... I dunno. Can't say that I'd do it as NJ. I suppose some would. I'm not around it everyday feeling the yearn for a reliable goalie. It can be a powerful thing. Teams do questionable stuff. I remember.

I am all in favour of paying for a goalie at a fair price. If 1 year of Ullmark costs Mercer, I’d rather pay a fair price for a quality dman and bottom 6 and roll Kahkonen/Allen/Daws/Schmid

I feel highly certain Ullmark will come with an extension, especially NJ considering they have a bright future.

But again Boston has lost no leverage we have the cap to keep both goalies, and we have been very successful with both goalies. A lot of teams are showing they need a true start and bruins have the answer to their problem but they won’t sell short on a goalie who just won the vezina and continued to put up great number even after losing half the roster infront of him with minimal replacements.

Mercer is simply just not on the table for Ullmark.

An extension is frankly irrelevant to his value.

A rental is a rental.

2025 1st+whatever sweeteners are needed to beat out other bids, sure.

But if the best price on a goalie trade is paying Mercer for Ullmark, I’d rather bring back Kahkonen and spend assets elsewhere

Graves has been horrible this year and was scratched in the playoffs they did good by letting him walk. Severson is good but Luke and Nemec will be much better very soon its all fine

I'd think the base for an Ullmark deal would be similar to what COL paid for Kuemper, which was a 1st + 3rd + Timmins (2nd rounder drafted a few years prior). With that said, Mercer is worth more than the package that Kuemper returned.

My perspective is NJD doesnt trade Mercer for Ullmark even if Boston adds a 2025 first.

I see the Mercer for Swayman, 2024 first for Swayman, and Mercer for Ullmark as all from the same unrealistic tree
