Markstrom had a disastrous last quarter of the season after the complete debacle by CGY management leading up to the TDL. We know 3 things regarding the Markstrom situation :

1) He clearly doesn’t wanna be in CGY anymore
2) He’s willing to waive to NJ
3) CGY likes Holtz

Yeah lets watch Holtz score 30 goals and lets watch everyone of these players stink good idea, PS stop being back ex devils. Devils hold all the chips so markstrom will be cheap. Your over paying for hague and markstrom but hey your just like fitzy CLUELESSS. Holtz had more pts than Tatar was playing good even tho the devils have a bunch of idiots running the time and Jack needs a full time center unless he magical becomes a 50%+ faceoff. Itll be pathetic to trad Holtz for markstrom but not for Meier YIKES. again stay of the drugs bruh. how much you giving hague in a new deal? you realize bahl is cheap and younger.

Vegas only needs to shed cap if they want to keep Marchessault. And even then they probably don't move Hague.

Markstrom didn't have a disastrous quarter, the quality of the team took a nose dive after moving Hanifin and Tanev.

Sounds like NJD should just go after Tanev then if losing him made markstrom's save% drop into the 0.870s

You guys don’t hold all the chips with Markstrom it’s like you guys don’t think there are other teams desperate for a top 10 goalie to make a potential playoff run.

Basically it comes down to either you guys pay up whatever price is being asked for or run an Allen Kahkonen duo into next year and see how well that plays out.

At this point I really hope you guys do but realistically retention would definitely be involved in a trade for Markstrom but if you guys think we’re accepting lowball offers don’t forget you guys were the ones desperate for him we didn’t start these discussions.

I personally want nothing to do with Markstrom at his age and the way he ended the season. I've frankly been quite happy with Kahkonen, and my approach has always to build from the Dcore out. Using a goalie to bandaid deeper flaws at LD and the bottom 6 would be a bad idea.

Build from the colorado model with size, speed in the bottom 6 like wood, duhaime, trenin, colton. Our top 6 is similarly built with speed and a power forward in Meier/Rantanen (obviously we don't have a mackinnon but still), and then a rock solid dcore.

And georgiev who is a good/average goalie at a cheap cap hit
