I don't think Buchnevic is going to be worth his next contract and I'm not keen on extending a 29 year old longterm. There's also a risk he doesn't want to resign at all. So if we can get him extended to $7m x 5 years. Then it's worth it.

What the Blues paid for Buch is entirely irrelevant, he's a complete top line winger who the Blues want to extend. Chych is a very hot and cold 2nd pairing Dman at a position where Ottawa really needs to move a big money guy out (Chych isn't one yet, but he'll ask to be).

Honest question here. The "critics" don't have OTT farm system that highly ranked. Young core absolutely there. No debate from me on that. Would there be any legitimate interest in a trade back scenario with the OTT 1st? Lower 1st and either 1 or 2 2nds?
