MTL don't have cap issues, so they really don't need to buyout any contracts. Not now.

What doesn't make sens is having Dach as a scratch, having another trio of goalkeepers, not having enough cap space to raise Slafkovsky and Guhle, no Hutson/Xhekaj on your roster.

Buyout is not only GM's decision. It's still owner's money.
As long as GM don't need this cap space, no owner would be ready to buyout these contracts just for fun of losing money!

More chances Anderson is buried to play AHL than to have his contract buyout if habs still have a lot of room on the salary cap.
More chances Dvorak get traded 50% retained than being bought out

Habs don't need the money now and don't want the cap penalty for Anderson on the books for three extra years. Send him to the AHL and wait for 2026 to buy him out. Dvorak buyout makes no sense, he isn't even on that bad of a contract.

Habs can't afford to add all those contracts, they would run out of money in the next two years between Slaf, Guhle, Dach, Reinbacher, and Hutson needing raises.

I said only the Anderson and Dvorak buyouts are the thread, the rest was just added quick as a what IF!
The only reason Dach is not in line up is because I said if he is healthy he would be in lineup otherwise there would be even more cap room with him on LTIR!

clearing money makes no sense right now, team is more than a few free agents away from being truly competitive for years, spreading the cap over multiple years when we can just pay it all off now makes no sense, we can just let the deals run out and not have buyout penalties afterwards, even if they're little money it's better to have none
