Stop trading Anderson to Philly for Petersen lol we aren’t taking on a crap contract and giving you a 2nd to dump 1 year of Cal. It’s completely illogical.

Why would you waste Barron and a 2nd and a 3rd to get rid of Dvorak I understand his contract sucks but you are still under cap enough to just about keep him and get assets for Barron!
Just bury Dvorak in AHL and it will probably cover the cap.

Watch Josh Anderson bouncing back under a coach like Torts and having a 20-25 goals season under him...............

Anderson has sucked for like 5 seasons. He isn’t rebounding anywhere except the KHL. and nobody is going to bank on that either let alone give you a 2nd round pick lol

Barron will likely gonna be traded away, just looks how Hutson and Mailloux played yesterday......

Dvorack is just a trow-in for the cap.

And that's can easily convince SJ to make a Draft picks swipe.

Anderson was sucked because he isn't a good fit with a coach like St-Louis.

Anderson was great in 2020-21 and the 2022-23.

How on earth did Anderson get a 5m contract when his career high is 47 points?
Makes you shake your head and now this year his whopping 20 points!
No one is touching that contract with a 10 foot pole.
The only contract I can think is worse is Dubois or Laine!

Anderson was NEVER great , look up his stats, 47 points as a career year is NOT great it is around a 3m player at best , now he is a round a 1.5 M player at best!

Great is a guy making $5.5M a year that can’t break 40 points? Half of our prospects did that this year making league minimum lol. No thanks man. The Flyers are shedding crappy contracts not taking them on.

We just signed Bobby McMann to 1.35 M contract I will put money he outperforms Anderson next year!
McMann 56 games played 24 points in 11 mins average ice time!
Anderson 78 games played 20 points averaging 15 mins ice time!

I like targeting Pittsburghs 1st round pick, don't think those are the assets that get it done here though

Other than that, not a fan.

Did you watch Hughes and Gorton’s presser? That’s basically the opposite of what they want to do.

That Anderson trade is so awful for MTL.

Stamkos will get more $ if he hit the UFA market.

Monahan might ask for more $ for a 2 year contract.

Not a lot of money to sign Guhle and Slaf.

Stop with dumping players. It is as silly as buying out a player this offseason. MTL have money and are not pushing for playoffs.

That's exactly what they said.

- They want to add somes talents on the team and likely gonna trade away somes dmans for this talent.

- They don't want to buyout any contracts, but they never mentionned that they will not gonna want to trade away somes contracts.

- They likely gonna want to upgrade the team for maybe trying (without mentioning that's the ultimate goal) for a playoffs push.

- Gorton mentionned that if they see a free agent who can gonna have a great fit with Montreal, they will likely gonna show somes serious interrest.

And the last point that I want to mention is that Gorton said that players watched this press conference, so I belive that they doesn't wanted to said that they will gonna do this or that.....

Things have changed now that PIT is eliminated. That PIT pick is now either 14 or 13 (if they don't win the lottery) so SJ is more likely to trade up to get someone or stay pat, not trade down. Barron is solid but he doesn't have a high ceiling and they could potentially get a really solid RD at 2-3 or trade up and get one at 8-12

-They want to add talent through the draft. they have a LONG-term plan and they want to stick it. Stamkos is not a part of their plan. He might re-sign in TB and will not help MTL 3-4 years from now.

- Wasting money in a buyout and wasting assets in a dump is basically the same thing.

-They specifically said that they don’t want to rush for the playoffs. They want to see personal and team improvements next year. If the improvements is enough to get them in the playoffs it would be a bonus.

-They are no going to shut the door completely to UFAs. But thy already have a lot of nhl players under contract. They want to see improvements from those players. Some to be the future core and some to sell at next TDL or next offseason. It is a patient management group. They traded Petry because he asked and they traded Hoffman because he didn’t bring much on the ice and as a teamate. Anderson and Dvorak are bringing things on the ice and are good teamates. They will be patient with them.

HuGo always been as transparent as they could be. You are interpreting a lot of things that they didn’t said to validate your point.
