Description
Maybe LA is so desperate to trade him they'll retain 2.5m and take a small trade package in return. consider the move a 2.5m mistake, take dvorak to play bottom 6C minutes and move on. As a 6m pay behind suzuki he can excel. or not maybe this is a bad move but interesting. thoughts?

No chance in this world, that LA is going to retain a total of $17,500,000 over 7 years for dumping PLD. They better give him the chance for a full season to play with to solid wingers (this season he mainly played with Anderson-Dolan and Laferriere). Anderson-Dolan, sorry to say, was not really NHL level and Laferriere did not have a bad season, but his first NHL year. So it's a tough line to start to play with in your first year with a new team.
Of course PLD performed well under expactations, but this needs to be considered. If PLD can play a full season with a guy like Arvidsson and another solid winger, I am sure his numbers will look different next year, even when he centers the 3rd line.
Kings shoud have also no interest in the package, especially not in Davorak and Primeau. I find it interesting that you don't believe in Primeau. How then could he improve a contending team?
Also: You would offer Cam Talbot §3,500,000 for two years? I mean he's great this season (and gladly healthy) but don't forget that he's turning 38 before the next season starts.

That would be a good way for Montreal to get their number blocked

"LA" (meaning Rob Blake) isn't "desperate" to trade PLD; they aren't looking to trade him at all. Blake just needs to get him two good wingers. Viktor Arvidsson would be a start; maybe Alex LaFerriere or Arthur Kaliyev will mature into the finish.

Maybe the Kings are so desperate to trade PLD that they retain 2.5m over 7 years and take back a set of players from your discard pile.

Also, maybe if a pig farts hard enough it can fly. Just maybe....

He has played most of his time with Laffy who up until this year had little to no professional experience. His line mates haven’t exactly set him up for success he is the best goal scorer on the second pp unit and has shown a huge uptick when taking over for Kopitar or Danault. He’ll be fine.

These PLD to Montreal for cap dump proposals won’t end will they?

If the move you are proposing likely gets the Kings GM fired it’s not really in the realm of possibility is it?

Fiala has been paired up with PLD for a little over 215 minutes, under 20% of his total ice time this season during which Fiala potted 8 goals. The issue was that line pairing was incredibly defensively problematic as that same duo allowed 10 goals. Fiala gels much better with Danault, but PLDs game has also substantially improved. PLD definitely had issues for the start of the season, but since the coaching change he looks a lot closer to the 65 point center the Kings acquired and the better defensive prowess of those players has brought them back together recently as a line. The 2nd unit in general has been poor for LA, I can't necessarily say it is PLD alone there, as he is the highest goal scorer on the second unit.

laugh Rob Blake isn't eating $16,500,000 on PLD for that lame offer.

And sorry PLD didn't want to play in Montreal that's why he was traded to LA.

His future Detroit born wife won't live in Montreal and that was one of the reasons he wasn't willing to accept a trade to go home. Neither PLD or Zegras are Montreal bound just get over it.

To add to this, trading Dubois (especially with retention) would be Blake admitting he made a huge mistake. GMs have alot of pride.
