Here’s why the Buffalo trade has ZERO CHANCE of happening

1- we don’t need the Cap saving, PLENTY of room

2- sure Skinner had a “down” season, but almost everyone did for us this year- see: Tage, Tuch, Cozens, etc etc
And even with his struggles this year, he’s still gonna put up numbers on par with Anderson’s best year of his entire career

3- Anderson blows & we’d have no interest whatsoever

4- after next year, we can get out of Skinner’s contract fairly painlessly (and that’s IF we’d even want to)

5- while getting that first would be tempting, our prospect pool is so loaded that we don’t really “need” it- we just aren’t looking for futures, & are trying to win now. Even in a down season, Skinner helps us win games as one of our leading goal scorers

The Leafs wouldn't not trade a 1st for Savard at the deadline and then all of a sudden think it's a good idea in the offseason

I don't beleive Habs do ANY of these deals. Doesn't make realistic sense except the concept of the last one in which case an Armia at 50% instead of RHP would be more oikely. but even then.

Cuz they rather have lube for pucks whos ass compared to savard. Savard was high priced 1rst prospect maybe more at the tdl
Savard blocks shots
Kills penalties
Plays heavy minutes
Would trive at top 6 and pk time in toronto
Savard won cup vet and experienced

Would you pay a 1st for a guy that will be bottom pairing? Only way it would be a 1st if there would be retention, and Montreal already has 3 of them can't take more until offseason (Edmundson will be off).

At the TDL Matt Roy or Hronek would have been the only two options for the RD(for long term resigning) for Leafs to pay a 1st, and both Kings and Canucks are in the playoff picture.

Lube cost 700k less just move smo down savard is 2x the player at 5x the cost thats why hronek and roy werent going no where

Besides if ur a cup team and get offered from a seller savard top 4 dmen logs 20 minutes + pk blockshots and is a stay at home guy leader veteran won a cup making 1.75 50% and can play anywhere in the lineup
you would trade your 25-32 pick

Give it up bud, no team is giving you a 1st for Savard. If any team was dumb enough to do it - it would have been at TDL that just passed. Zero reason to waste assets now when Leafs (or any team) can address their needs via FA.

Buffalo isn’t taking on a worse cap dump if they move Skinner. Toronto (or anyone else for that matter) won’t be paying a 1st for Savard. LA isn’t doing that when they already have Anderson and Gavrikov on the depth charts. They might look for a 3LD player, but doubtful they spend assets on a higher end LD to play 3LD. And since Montreal won’t have the 1sts from Toronto or LA, Canes won’t be moving Necas for the leftovers. Canes would also not want futures unless a separate trade can be arranged in which the Canes bring in a Necas replacement/upgrade.

You act like savard needs to be moved this is my gm and i can do what i want if u think a 25-32 pick is bad for a quality rhd then u dont know hockey but wait forgot toronto is a rd 1 exit so ig 16-20 is a lil high for savard 😊

Of course you can propose anything you want, everyone entitled to their opinion. No need to take shots at Leafs just because I disagree with you . I could have pointed out that Habs are heading to 3rd straight last place finish in division, the Leafs just 🧹 you, and trading a 1st for a washed up defender on the worst team in the division did not make a ton of sense 🤷🏻

Matheson is better the anderson and gavrikov
There and 2nd and 3rd pairing dmen matheson is elite now and can log top minutes and qb the pp.

Fiala-Kopy-Kempe
Moore-Danault-Byfield
Kaliyev-Dubios-Laffierriere
Grunderson-Turcotte-Thomas

Anderson-Doughty
Matheson-Roy
Gavrikov-Spence
Clarke

This would be a good lineup with some depth signings
Matheson would add more goals to this team alr logging around 60pts by end of season with mtl with a more loaded team like this might push the same or higher.

And i think you meant florida swept toronto who is a rd one exit for how many years? And 1 rd 3 in ur whole existence
Also it was 3-1 🫶🏻
24-13 😎
4-1 3rd period against boston
3-2 against tampa

Los Angeles has greater priorities than adding to the left side of the defense, like investing in goalies, getting a quality winger for Pierre-Luc DuBois and maybe even keeping Matt Roy. Personally, I'd much rather re-sign Viktor Arvidsson for three years than add Michael Matheson for two.

Gee, would I rather be a fan of the team that just finished 32nd, 28th, 27th (current) or the team that just swept you & heading to 8th straight playoffs 🤔? You champs fit well in our back pocket 😎.
Enjoy the draft , pretty much all you have to look forward to; of course there’s always next year 😂

Back to back to back last place finishes in division; your rebuilding team keeps setting records for futility 😂. Maybe next year for the quadruple 🤞

$22.5 million in cap space will disappear fast with seven -- 7, count 'em, 7 -- young free agents to re-sign including Quinton Byfield and two goalies to acquire. We might have to forego one or two of our RFAs just to re-sign Arvidsson at $3.5 million.
