Description
Yep -

1- if the Habs add a top forward at the 2024 draft (Demidov, Celebrini, Lindstrom, Catton, Eiserman), then sign a Vet to fill out the top 6.

2- if Reinbacher and Hutson hit. The young Dcore will have a GREAT mix of physically, mobility, defensive and Offensive capability.

The Guhle -Reinbacher pairing will be an insane pairing -able to crunch opposing team and be great in transition

The Xhekaj - Mailloux line will be a bone crushing duo with a good mix of offensive capabilities

The Hutson - (whomever) : We will have our PP QB. Likely to play more sheltered minutes in the Ozone.

In 2025-2026 - we are probably gonna look like this and I think the habs will be able to compete. They have loss 22 games this years by one goal... 30 if you count games where the other team added a goal in an empty net.

Add Dach back, and improved Slaf, a healed Caufield and Newhook... plus a guy like Stamkos... and I think this team will suprise a lot of people, even starting next year.

KH, JG and Bobrov have really done a good job.

They'll never pay to move players as long as the cap isn't an issue, which it won't be for another 4-5 years.

Love to see Matheson and Savard traded but reality is that one of them likely stays as the grizzled vet of the group. That's likely to be Savard since they have less depth at RHD

You are right - I doubt they trade them... unless they want the roster spots. It wont be about the cap space, but about letting guys like Roy and Newhook play in the top 9.

I think Matheson can fetch some good value... and it will be better for the habs to have someone else pick up all that playing time - He's got 48 pts and he is -27. Savard could probably stay on a cheap contract for the vet presence alone.

I think hutson has more of a chance to play on the second pair than xhekaj. he can still grow but he is really not there yet.

The Sharks say yes, but what's the point of paying to move guys if you aren't going to use the cap space you cleared up?
