If we move necas, it’ll be out west or for a roster upgrade

I could see this working for Carolina. Though, I'd rather not overpay Skjei and just bring Necas back.

JJP is on a similar trajectory as Necas, so think Buffalo would pass. Necas is better, and I feel the gap may be worth the first in a vacuum this year, but projecting out will close. Add in Necas needs a larger contract and JJP will be cheaper, along with that first being relatively high, can’t see Buffalo doing that.

The upgrade in this instance is the ability to resign Guentzel and Skjei.

Take out JJP and add a different prospect

Yeah in this instance I guess that is the main decision, keeping Necas or losing Skjei. Could replace Blake with Necas and Skjei with a 2 mil 3LD and move Orlov to 2LD. We'd lose the first from Buffalo but could work out a deal Drury for Jokiharu most likely. If we could 100% bring Nikishin over in late March next year I'd lean towards letting Skjei walk and keeping Necas.

LD isn't the issue honestly. It's finding another RD because Pesce's the major hole on the backend. Orlov's been the 2nd best D man on the team this season so he deserves a top 4 spot. Morrow getting a top 4 spot straight out of college is... that's risky. That's very much hoping he swims instead of sinks

Why swap Peterka for Necas when we’d have to give you a 1st & Necas a huge contract??
No thanks, doesn’t make sense for us- we’ll keep Peterka & u guys can pay Necas
