LOL; talk about polar opposite opinions. I see it this way: Wood is a borderline 3rd/4th liner that can PK and gives you speed and grit plus a little scoring. He isn't everyone's cup of tea but he'll give you a good bottom six option for years.

Thoughts of this acgm in general?

I think the amount of forwards the Sabres have drafted these past 3 years would make them stay away from a long term contract to their bottom 6.

If Trenin would sign for that little amount of money, expect another offer to beat that. I would certainly consider giving him almost double that.

I don’t think Ritchie would get that type of opportunity right away. He’s not able to go to the Ahl so perhaps he earns it in camp. More likely he gets returned to jr for another year with a 10 game trial. If he stays I’d put him on the 4th line. .. but if he can earn that spot in camp it would be a hell of a team.

You're going to pay a guy that's never scored more than 24 points $3.4M or something close to it? I like him but he's isn't worth more than $2.5M and that is pushing it.

Well, he isn’t exactly meshing greatly with your team right now is he? I’m rather surprised at that because you would think his speed and aggressive nature would fit right in with your offense. Whoever signs him probably doesn’t have to offer him $3 million, but if Colorado only offers him less than two, somebody’s gonna offer him more than that. I see him as a speedy, aggressive winger who can score goals. In the right situation he is a 15-20 goal man.
