The plan was he comes back at the beginning of the season. NYR would rather have the player than the cap and if he gets injured again they recoup the cap with him on LTIR. Would have to be a more enticing pick to let him go unfortunately

Im one of the Pens fans that think we should trade him. I'd even be open to a Jarry + Pettersson deal.

Yeah, for A LOT more than Bahl and a 2nd. Bahl is a 3LD worth very little if anything. NJD 2nd in 2025 will probably be 60+. 1st+ needs to be coming back for Pettersson AND Jarry. That's immediate massive upgrades at their two worst positions to an in division rival.

for NYR to consider you would have to make it a 3rd that turns into a 1st if Chytil plays in 41 games next year or 75 between next year and 2025-26 season.

1st + for both of them is less than a Bahl and a 2nd for MP!
(For example: Bahl+2nd+ 1st= Jarry+ Pettersson) Jarry is not worth more than a 1st?
Make me understand the logic?
I am not suggesting Jarry, a Pens fan did and thats fine. But if we're looking at Ullmark for a '25 1st with a small add thats probably a better deal for us I would think.
Yes I guess in-division "tax" will probably cost, but Pitt needs picks more than anything.

Rangers don't even consider that nonsense offer. They keep Chytil on LTIR if he can't play again and if he can, they don't give him away for garbage.

Yes, PIT needs futures and Bahl is of zero value for that so not sure why he keeps getting included. If he were of value, NJD would keep him. Bahl is a a JAG of minimal value to a rebuilder. He would get a better return on a contender wanting depth at the TDL. A expected late 2nd isn't much value either. Pettersson alone as a rental at the TDL will get less than Hanifin, but more than a single 1st. Hence the '+.' Jarry being a goalie isn't worth much, but Ullmark is a rental right now until he extends somewhere. Obviously he is better than Jarry, but the long term risk without an extension and an even more restrictive NTC which reduces his trade value- as we witnessed at the TDL when he blocked a trade to LAK. Pettersson on the entire season is worth a 1st and future 2nd alone to an in division contender. With Bahl being of zero value, that means Jarry is getting traded for free. So hooking up a division rival at their two weakest positions for a cheap price.

Waiting until the deadline probably gets you more yeah, but also costs the team 3.5 mill in real money to pay his salary until that point, and risks an injury. Something teams consider
