Sabres fan here, if your goal is to pry Crouse out of Arizona, it’s going to take a haul to do so. You’re going to need to start with Kulich, and/or an unprotected 2024 first round pick.

My guess is that they will want a top prospect, an NHl roster player (Quinn or Peterka) and probably a first round pick.

Is that an overpayment? Yes of course it is, but that’s what it will take to pry Crouse out of Arizona. He is a top six F with size and toughness and signed to a team friendly deal. Not gonna be cheap what so ever.

But, yes I would pay that because guys like Crouse don’t grow on trees.

I wouldn't give up Kulich, but I would give up Quinn in a Deal for Crouse.

I bet the ask on Crouse is about the same as the ask on Keller. Probably 3 high end pieces.

Hm. Wonder if Rosen and Jokiharju does the job. I'm not sure I want to spend much more on a bottom 9 player.

Quinn Savoie 2025 1st ?

That's probably the ask. I'd have to think about it, I do believe that we are missing a physical element, but holy hell that's a lot. At that point is it cheaper to try to move up and draft lindstrom in this draft.

that price will never be paid. the offense is nowhere near the value of that return.

I don't have a problem using Savoie or Kulich 1 for 1. If not, I also don't have a problem moving on.

Getting Will Carrier back in the org as a UFA offers far more value than losing a 1st, Quinn and Savoie.

Nobody on the Sabres has more goals than Crouse at the moment. I don't understand this comment at all.

Kind of a dense comment tbh. This is like me saying UPL is franchise goalie because has a higher save percentage this year than Shesterkin. It's technically true but completely ignores context and nuance.

Crouse's career high in points is what, 45? I think Tage had that vs Columbus last year.

TLDR: The fact that every top six forward on the Sabres is struggling and is on their last healthy bone doesnt suddenly mean Crouse is better than what he is.

No but you tried making the point that crouse having a higher goal total than anyone on the sabres implies he isnt a 3rd line forward. That doesn't make any sense.

Call your dad. Tell him Im with your mom and she won't be home till morning.

I’m a big Crouse fan, and I would pay a massive price to get him, but Quite honestly,he does have shortfalls, plenty of them actually. He doesn’t drive possession, he while he leaves a lot to be desired for on the power play, but I think he’s been a pretty consistent 20-25 goal scorer in the league.

If you’re trading for Crouse, you’re trading for the rare game he plays with the size, speed, and grit and toughness combination. He’s a rare middle-six power winger, who is a strong defensive forward and hard to play against, and that’s something a lot of teams don’t have.

He checks a lot of boxes for a lot of team needs, and it’s going to be a massive price to get him out him Arizona, especially considering that he doesn’t have a no-trade clause, and Buffalo tends to be on a lot of those lists

2024 is not a strong draft class at all. I’d have no problem parting with that pick, and I think we will find our way into the 10-15 range.

The offense he brings, which historically has been 20-25 goal range may not value the return, but honestly, guys like Crouse are rare. Very difficult to even name guys who are similar. Guys like these command immense value because they are so rare. Any top nine, forget top six, top nine F that plays with grit, physicality, and tenacity are always in high demand and valued by playoff teams. This is why the Flyers want a first for Scott Laughton, and why Barclay Goodrow got a first.

The main thing about Crouse that makes him worth a massive price that you can’t forget though is that he doesn’t have a no-trade clause, and the Sabres and any perennial bottom dweller can take a stab at him with no resistance form the player, plus he’s young and cost-controllled, which makes him coveted by contenders as well.

29 teams are looking for a player like Lawson Crouse, a big power winger who is hard to play against, great defensively, plays in any situation, and will drop the gloves.

You might be right, the price of Quinn, Savoie and a first or whatever it will take may never get paid. You’re spot on there, but if that’s the case, he likely won’t get moved. Guys aren’t lining up to play in Arizona any more than Buffalo.

Quinn Savoie 2025 1st ?

I’m at a loss of which one it would be, and which one would Arizona want.

I feel Arizona doesn’t want to continually sell off for youth anymore and would want to try to be good, they may want Quinn in the deal because you know he can play in the NHL and have somewhat of an idea of what he can be. If you’re getting a couple kids in the deal, like Kulich and Ostlund, or Savoie and Rosen, you don’t know what they’re going to be.

One thing that is interesting is that with Arizona, Andre Tourigny was Jack Quinn’s junior coach, and I don’t think he’s getting fired quite yet, but the connection is there.

I’d start with Kulich and Rosen and then keep adding as needed. I think they’re going to want a center/NHL ready prospect in return if he does get moved.

Some would pay it, because they think he would be a very good add to our team with the intangibles he brings
