Would have to be Tkachuk coming back for Marner

Not even close to a deal, we're in a win-now scenario and Marner is a huge piece.

In my opinion, Chychrun is a far more valuable asset for Toronto than Tkachuk. Leafs don’t need more forwards.

I’m not trying to be sarcastic with this response, but with all due respect, the Leafs need a massive upgrade at defence to truly win now. Scoring is not an issue for the team. Chychrun is a legit top 4 guy.

Marner IS the reason scoring is not an issue. He's our top penalty killer and is responsible for probably 50%+ of our scoring. Leafs need a massive upgrade at defence but that will be done in free agency this summer without losing Marner.

And he just went for a 1st and two 2nds and would fetch less this time around. He's a good player, but attainable in a way that a guy like Marner or Tkachuk is not

As others have said - not enough for Marner & he has full NMC. But curious why would SENs entertain this, literally no chance Marner would extend there so one year of Marner when you’re likely to miss playoffs again does not seem like good asset management

If he comes with a 9 M$ extension, yes. If not, pass.
