Value wise its fine but it just doesn't make any sense situationally. They have Power, Dahlin and Samuelsson all signed to long term deals and added another left handed d who has struggled greatly when he's played his offside.

I don't worry to much about sides. Dahlin,Samuelsson, Johnson can all play RD. I am more worried about the Concussions. It's a decent Hockey Trade and he's very talented.

He mostly plays on the right, similar to Dahlin. I actually find it easier to play on my off-hand in a more offensive minded setting. It puts your stick in the shot lane, opens you for one timers, and gives you a wider passing lane on the breakout. It does limit your defensive options a bit (clearing out the puck and pulling the puck off the boards.

Head history is not good, a risky reach.

if it makes you feel better, they year they won the presidents cup (06/07) they had one RHD on the team. What I dont like about the trade is that it loads us with all offensive defensemen, with two young goalies behind them.

He's not physical but darn good player. Samuelsson the one I think should go but with Novikov coming both Johnson and Sammy movable but who knows what cats breakfast Adam's gets for them. Novikov looks better than both of them and younger

The Sabres are deep at center. Money needs to be spend for positions of need. Moving Mittelstadt and acquiring Byrum allows the needed flexibility.

they arent though. Tage, cozens....krebs? thats not deep. Savoie and kulich will both be wingers in the NHL. its really just Ostlund and Wahlberg in the depth chart, and they are at least 2-3 years away.

Also Byram hasnt been good for 2 years, llkely a result of injuries that have slowed development. There's no guarantee that suddenly changes on the Sabres.
