Feels like the caps are selling low on all of these trades except I really don't know about the Toronto trade. Not sure if Toronto wants to move that prospect - I've heard he's really good.

Insanely talented prospect, but going for a cup you need to trade parts of the future to make it happen now. Look at all the years of the Caps buying and trading away A-Chip prospects.

Also I was trying to be realistic for returns that teams could potentially give

I think the guys with term get more (aside from that Toronto trade) because the caps won't trade them otherwise. Idk I'm just so ready for the deadline to come and pass so we don't have to guess anymore lol.

The only guys we have on the block with term are Dowd, Jensen, Lindgren and Milano if he gets dealt. I feel like he most likely will stay. Depends on how active we really are

Winnipeg isn't giving up defensive depth and a top prospect for a depth rental.

They'll want to add depth not give away defensive depth for forward depth.

Some interesting thoughts on these trades. If the Leafs think the 33 year old Jensen can hold up for 2.5 more years, think they do that deal.

What are you talking about? With getting rid of Stanley that makes room for Heinola to join the squad. There is our depth piece. Also Jets are going to need to start moving prospects in order to compete for a Stanley Cup because the rest of the West is going to be getting better and Mantha helps the Jets win now. Chibrikov isn't a top prospect. He is really good don't get me wrong but Lambert, Rutger, Lucius, Barlow are above him.

It's just not what the Jets would do. There is almost no chance that Bowness would rely on Heinola as the playoff 7D with the amount of time he missed. So, if the Jets move Stanley he needs to be replaced which ups the acquisition cost of Mantha.

I'm also not sure adding a lazy player like Mantha is the way to go. The Jets rely on their system and work ethic, Mantha would likely and up as a healthy scratch. So throwing away one of the best AHL prospects for him is wasteful. I don't mind trading Chibrikov, but it should be for something better than Mantha.

If a 2nd or 3rd doesn't get Mantha, you move on. Giving up two young players for him should be out of the question.

Agree with Feelers4Ehlers that Mantha would be a great add. I don't think his work ethic would be in question being playoff bound on a contract year.

Agree with Windjammer that Chevy would be more likely to trade picks (MTL 2nd and maybe a later pick to beat the market) over prospects, especially Stan and Chibs.

I'm also thinking Niederreiter only cost the Jets a 2nd and he's a far better player, so Mantha shouldn't cost two pieces in any scenario.
