I'd say in the offseason a trade for Saros would revolve around either a top end RD or C prospect and a 1st. The value and type of prospect would depend on where the pick falls in the 2024 draft, but considering Montreal picks around 7th I'd assume the trade Winnipeg's pick and a prospect. I think they'd ask for Reinbacher or Barron

Hughes has been so patient, I really get the feeling one day we’re all gonna wake up and he just pulled the trigger on something so unbelievably massive, that it will get the Habs bandwagon revved up to a hysteria level pitch.

It would only have to be a one year commitment for Crosby and Guentzel if they wanted it to be that way. Or if they’d be in it for the long term, even better.

If those are their main needs, then we’ve definitely got multiple pieces they could want. Nashville’s in a playoff fight, and I think they hold off on moving Saros until the draft. Askarov will be ready next year.

They weren't getting a 1st for Monahan either according to most on this site, but then they did!

They were also getting a 1st for Petry, Edmundson, and then Petry again according to most of their fans on this site, but then they didn’t!

They were also getting multiple 1sts for Anderson according to most of their fans on this site, I’m sure that’ll still happen!

Petry got Matheson, so I would argue that was a 1st+ worth of value.

Eddy had back issues and was likely to return a similar return as Chiarot had he stayed healthy, since he was the better player but he just couldn't stay healthy.

While Matheson is likely worth a 1st now, I would argue at the time of the trade he wasn’t. His value has gone up since going to Montreal
