i've seen plenty of devils fans buying Ned, like I said in the post this would be if they buy, if not another team that needs a goalie going into the playoffs will.

They'll resign Jake.

You can drop the 1st and add Willander or Leekerimaki, doesn't matter imo.

Dubas recently said they'd prefer prospects (or young players) that would cover it.

Doubt Rutherford or Fitzgerald make those moves. Might get another winger with cap hit from VAN but makes no sense for them to send a cheap young winger like Hoglander out. Devils are as bad as Pens so they won't take rentals.

Lets not sit here and pretend Rutherford doesn't make heavy handed trades. They also have enough space to resign him next season (assuming that's what Jake wants) and they can move Mikheyev to someone

Hoglander is at least as good as Mikheyev and Garland with less cap hit and more potential. Idiotic for a contender to move their valuable depth players with potential. They couldn't make a deal this summer to free up cap space so expecting another one to transpire to re-sign Guentzel is unwise. If I'm VAN, I'm making sure the cap space is available BEFORE I acquire Guentzel. That's also what will yield the best return package.

Lekkerimäki is the missing piece for the Guentzel trade.
Smith will probably return a 2nd.

Are you really going with bleeds goals Ludvig?
I mean if you are trying to lose just take out Grave or MP and put in POJ too! He's good for bleed a few goals every time he's on the ice.

The 3rd pairing on the pens is just abysmal, AHL players all the way, hey can't hide them when they try to it just makes it worse. Yet they still sit Ty Smith in the AHL.............. what a joke

It depends, I could definitely see GMJR doing it. He is known for going top-heavy on deadline moves, and a top winger like Guentzel would be hard for him to pass up when he knows his team has a real shot.

And I have no doubt they're working to make sure the space is there should they be the team to add Jake.

Who cares who's playing defense if they're sellers lol.

I'd disagree on Ruhwedel. He's a fine 3rd pair, you know what you're getting from him every time. Graves sucks and so does whoever lines up with him.

I don't think Ty Smith is good, he's sucked at both camps for the penguins since acquiring him. If a team thought he was worth an NHL roster spot he would've been traded by now. Hextall made a god awful trade.

Dubas prefers prospects more than draft picks.
I would change the PIT-VCR trade - Canucks should trade Aatu Raty and Jacob Truscott in exchange for Jake Guentzel (PIT retains 50% of Guentzel's contract).
Canucks are not trading Podz and Hogs.

Graves is fine, when Letang doesn't leave him 3 on 1
You are wrong on Smith, he out played POJ by a mile his 1st camp here and should have never been sent down. Even the pit papers called that one out.

Chad can go right back to the AHL where they got him from, he's awful.
The combination of POJ, Chad, Ludvig and Shea have done nothing but bleed goals all season. If you want to know when goals are being coughed up just look for those 4.
POJ tonight -3. Looked clueless out there. Watching Dri stickhandle and McDavid blows right past him. He shouldn't even be in the NHL.

Yeah, which they'll probably do by moving one of their wingers in that very deal to PIT.

Hence why i've said Hoglander.

I'm not touching Mikheyev with a 10ft pole unless he's going right back out the door.

then you clearly don't know anything about hockey.
They went to FA and got an average 2nd pairing guy at an average AVA..... You expect to much from him.
Not hard to see where the teams problems are at this point in the season, just go look at the numbers. Graves ain't the one bleeding goals.

Besides Allvin and Rutherford are not done yet.
They might pull another move or two before the Trade Deadline.

They can if they want to go back to having the worst D-core in the league. Guentzel is a great player just not what Vancouver needs at this time.

i can't see them moving Hoglander, and doubts about Podkolzin tonight, if you want a prospect with the 1st it's going to have to be a Raty level prospect or the Canucks will just go shop else where. With there being a lot scoring wingers on the market Guentzel isn't going to fetch the type of package pens fans are hoping for.

Makes no sense for VAN. Hoglander is $1.1m next season. Frees up practically no money to re-sign Guentzel. And it makes zero sense to trade him for a rental. Hence why I'm betting Rutherford demand Garland or Mikheyev goes back. Frankly Dubas should be rebuilding so if Rutherford is willing to send a good asset in addition I would take that deal regardless.

The injury is entirely inconsequential. Multiple insiders have said as much and Guentzel will miss zero games with his new team as he is practicing now. Only reason he's not playing is because he is getting traded.
