I don't see the hype with Mantha personally. Would much rather go after a Tarasenko, Buchnevich, Guentzel, Eberle, Toffoli, Konecny etc if we want a top 6 winger. For me, the only guys I would target from Washington would be Nic Dowd, Nick Jensen, and Charlie Lindgren. No thanks on everyone else. I agree with you, that is a lot to give for Dowd, and Mantha though!

If NSH can swing a Barrie trade, they'll need their final retention spot for him - not Carrier.

With NSH retaining and having to take Ceci, this isn't a good deal for the Preds. They should easily be able to get a 2nd for Carrier, without retaining or taking a less than desirable contract back.

Carrier = 2nd
Carrier + retention + cap back with an extra year = 1st

Yes, he is expiring which is why the price isn't higher. We can still get a 2nd for Carrier by himself, no other additions. You still have cap coming back here even without retention.

We don't need to dump Brown, can move him to the AHL for the same cap relief.

I don't really see the value in Mantha, didn't understand why theres been so many ACGMs with us getting him.
