I dont think if PHI is taking two years of schmidt at 5.9mil that theyll add a 3rd, especially as Walker rumour is a 1st alone. I'd think for PHI to take Schmidt theyd want an adittional pick

I would love for them to get a 1st for Walker but with what Tanev went for I’d be shocked if they did unless they take back a bad contract or send Walker with Seeler and get a first that way. The rumored ask of a 1st and a 2nd for Walker + Seeler seems unrealistic after that Tanev trade.

Schmidt + 1st for Walker I’d be happy with. Let Brad Shaw work his magic with Schmidt then flip him at 50% retained next deadline for another good return.

Two firsts in the Colorado trade is nuts. Zero chance that happens. At worst they can buyout RyJo in the off season for not that big of a penalty.

The opposite is also true. Tanev being gone, makes Walker and Carrier the best RD defensive two way dmen on the market. And alot of fans think CGY didnt get a good enough return.

I see Schmidt, especially at 5.9 for TWO years, as horrewndous bad value, and close to a cap dump. Even at 50% Schmidt has another year left, at some point you want long term vets to play with the kids in PHI, thats not schmidt.

PHI doeasn;t add a 3rd and WPG does, is closer.

Just think you've taken too many cap hits (kulak, schmidt, johanssen and dreiger), with 3 of them having term left

I agree with you that I don’t think Tanev got enough but us fans don’t determine the value of the players. The GMs do. Schmidt has one year left after this one. He will have value at less then 3 mil if we retain half at next deadline. Especially after the defense whisperer gets ahold of him.

I did take quite a few cap dumps but that is to maximize returns in trades. The Flyers are “rebuilding” you do that by collecting as many assets as possible.

Fair enough, Anus. I know I’ve done Frost trades in the past for a first and a prospect and they seem to get accepted so I figured drop the prospect and take the cap dump to get another first.

Yeah i get the logic, but you got way too aggressive on the return. Change one of the firsts to Behrens, Olausson, or a third and I think it's closer.

Avs may have interest in Frost but not at that price.

The Jets aren't giving up a first to make a lateral move.
