I figure Meir and Tkachuk would be similar in salary. Ottawa needs D if they trade Brannstrom and Chuckryn. Bratt would be too much and he is a cornerstone piece. We need better leadership. Brady could provide that. He could be Miles Wood, but much better.

It depends on the people around him. They need to buy in. Nico in all honest opinion is not a strong leader. This guy can be.

As said before, Brady has very young talent around him. He tries, but between personal and management it is hard to get anything done. Ottawa shows signs of growth, but it needs to be consistent. We've shown what we can do. The Devils have become immature and it starts with Nico not acting like the person he should be.

He's 24. He lead the US Juniors team to a championship. His brother has stated that he will be better than him - might not be true but you don't get players at their high value. If Tkachuk was available, what team would have to pay would hurt. If you don't think he's worth that - fine. But don't expect to get him at a discount as 30 other teams are going to be offering better.

Heard that about Meier too. About the boatloads we’d have to give up because of grit and physicality and his production and how every team would want him.

I’d go after Woodcroft personally but at this point just send a message, fire the coach. Figure out a real replacement in the offseason. Get a short heater going like teams tend to do immediately after during the coach and maybe sneak into the playoffs
