Take out the 4th and Vatrano and we will add a 3rd

We aren’t adding a 1st to Gibson laugh

Keeping Carrick if that’s all we get

The NYR trade is probably what the rangers would like to see (though a ‘25 1st), not sure it’s enough for ANA

Take the first out of the Gibby trade and retain $1.5-$1.8M

Also prefer to re-sign Carrick, but if that’s not the plan this is probably around his value.

You left out Lyub for ~3rd

Overpayment by the Rangers, I wouldn’t trade Kakko for Vatrano 1-1. Vatrano is way overrated on this site and Kakko is way underrated.

Both teams decline the Ducks Rangers trade.
Both teams declines the Gibson trade
Probably a bit much for Carrick so I’d say Toronto declines.

Vatrano hitting a career high on a basement team in 55 games = overrated

Kakko who’s injury prone and is widely seen around the league as a bust = underrated

The math ain’t mathing dawg.

Kakko isn’t widely seen as a bust around the league, it’s just that people on this site largely do not understand statistics. Even if he wasn’t viewed as highly by GMs as I feel he is, then that’s the literal definition of underrated. As for Vatrano - His 5v5 output isn’t even much higher than Kakko’s, he’s just force-fed minutes In all situations.

The only reason there are this many Kakko proposals in the first place is because of one single unsubstantiated report from months ago.

I’m no expert, but if GM’s don’t value him high, it probably means you’re over valuing him. Be realistic, if Kakko was putting up these on a team like the Ducks Sharks or Blackhawks, Rangers fans would be screaming that Kakko is not a good player.

And if you want “stats” Kakko’s offensive rating with percentile is -2.2 and Vatrano’s offensive rating with percentile is +4.3. So no, they are not as close as you think.

Kakko, while decent in a defensive category, is not worth as much as all you Rangers fans think because he’s lack of offensive brings his value down.

What evidence do you have that Kakko isn’t valued by GMs around the league, and what criteria does +4.3 and -2.2 come from? Those are literally just two numbers with no context whatsoever.

That site doesn’t value Vatrano more than Kakko overall based on its comparison tool

Welcome to CapFriendly in general and the enthusiastic coterie of Anaheim stalwarts in particular! cheers

Anaheim would probably trade Henrique with full retention for the fourth and EITHER the first or Kakko.

The difference between Gibson and Vanecek is as great as the difference between Holtz and Jones. The Ducks won't be adding the first they get for Henrique.

Few things here...
- NYR are 26-7-2 with Kakko in the lineup. They are 11-9-1 without him in the lineup. Yet everyone says he has little to no impact.
-He has 7 points in his past 9 games since being put on a line with Brod & Cuylle. That's all at evens too.
-Vatrano is shooting over 4% higher than his career average. Some regression is bound to happen.
-16 of his 45 points are on the PP, where his minutes would greatly reduce after a trade to NYR
-Vatrano is at 2.0 p/60 at even strength, kakko is at 1.6 p/60.

Basically, the above is not worth a 1st rounder, or giving up kakko's defensive impact / upside (as we know Vatrano is at his best rn).
