Ottawa traded a 1st and two 2nds for Chychrun and you think you're going to get two 1sts, a second, and a 4th while he now has one less year under contract??

The Avs would love that except for a few things:

1) Manson likely has all Canadian teams on his M-NTC and is unlikely to waive for Ottawa
2) There is no chance they can afford Norris' contract; that is true even if Landeskog has to LTIRetire

Or rather, which of Faber or Rossi will they be forced to move after the fact. Because they'll have just spent the money needed to sign them on Chychrun.

Faber alone is going to cost $8-9M on a long-term contract. While Rossi will probably cost $4-6M if bridged. That's $12-15M as is, where are they going to get the other $6-7M it'll cost them to resign Chychrun? Hmm?

Chychrun would be nice, but they're not putting twice the assets you paid for him up for grabs to get him, nor the risk of jeopardizing their ability to pay two young core pieces that are frankly worth more to them and bigger assets to their future success.

Finally, Minnesota doesn’t trade Yurov straight up for Chychrun, let alone add.

It's after the buyouts, they'd have plenty of space to sign all of them.

Wild still aren't trading this much, or Yurov at all, for Chychrun.

The Avs decline for cap reasons. They really don't have the cap space to realistically do it, even with Manson moving the other way.

It's listed as next season. Which means it is still in the final year of the buyouts. Yes, it rolls off by next years offseason, but that $15M that opens up is going straight to Faber and Rossi. Whatever else they might gain is wholey dependent on how much the cap goes up and how many roster spots still need to be filled.

If that needed roster number is greater than 2, than they realistically can't afford Chychrun. Regardless of the upcoming cap space increase.

OTT declines avs and MIN trade, no chance they trading a under 25 #2C for a 32 YO, and OTT not trading chych for only futures

Yurov is absolutely not on the table. He is on pace to be the highest scoring 20 year old in KHL history. He is a future top line winger for a long time.

Ohgren or Khusnutdinov?

Khusnutdinov maybe. Ohgren probably not. He has been doing pretty well in the SHL. I don't think the Wild would move him without seeing how he does in America.
