Habs aint retaining $10M over 3.5 seasons. He's not a cancer like Hayes or Johansen.
Anderson isn't tradable. Thankfully there is no pressure to move him, which would require retention and/or a cost to dump, and net little return.
Best we can hope for is that he finds an identity which allows him to contribute, even if that's in a non-scoring role.
Pezzetta manages and he doesn't have the physical attributes of Anderson, so there's no reason he can't do at least that much.
This season was the denial stage. He still thinks he's a top 6 player and expects to score. We need him to get to the acceptance stage. You're a bottom 6'er and we expect you to play safe, smart, and physical.
Same goes for Gallagher. I cringe when he's trying to carry the puck and he's always hunched forward and reaching because his legs and hands can't get him to where he wants to be.
Stop trying so hard to score and put that effort into being safe and smart.
Both players will be more effective if they learn to refocus their efforts in a different direction. Let the game come to you by doing the responsible things.
