Wrong SoCal team. Anaheim might be interested in a RhD for that (especially with three thirds in 2024, including picks 65 and 67 which they will keep), but Los Angeles wouldn't be.

One thing we know they are definitely not going to do is give away Connor Clifton and Jokiharju for a sack of nothing. Jeez.

Not sure that minimal changes will cut it. I still see 3 centers that don't excel defensively, forwards who gravitate to the perimeter the minute they think the coach isn't looking. The defense would be marginally better (although Samuelsson is the last guy I would put on the right side), but I'd probably look to move Samuelsson out for a more physical 3rd pair d (handedness probably doesn't matter).

Depends what you mean by “cut it”

Now that we seem to have the goaltending figured out,
we’re actually not in bad shape moving forward

The offense will come back next year with some better health so we don’t have to shuffle the lines constantly killing the chemistry
And we should hopefully be smart enough to stop the carousel on defense as well
Bring in a legit top4 guy- M.Roy, DeMelo, etc
But even if not, we aren’t in that bad a shape if they young guys just continue to grow up

And as far as your point about the Centers not playing defense goes….
Mitts has had his 2way game improve this season
And Cozens was playing good 2way hockey last year,
so let’s just hope Quinn can stay healthy so they can keep that line together & let them get back to kicking butt

and bring in a legit 4C to win faceofffs & PK….

I could see us take a big step forward next season

We wouldn’t be a Cup Contender- YET
But we could be scary enough that Boston & Florida want to avoid playing us in round 1
We’re on the cusp of being able to do some damage

Just need a few pieces (imo) to bring it all together
