It’s a big overpay from the Sabres in my opinion. Couture is 34, has 3 more years at $8M, and has missed most of the year to injury.

thats fair, playoff pedigree as well as i think he had like 27 goals last year so would be kind of banking on this year being a fluke but would never know with his age right

Boston isn’t trading Frederic especially for a second round pick. My guess is he’s extended next year

Yea I definitely think couture would be a good pickup for the Sabres. He’s a proven playoff performer and adds some veteran leadership. Only questions are can he stay healthy and would he waive for Buffalo.

you can start by abandoning the idea of getting frederic. it's just not happening. there's a gap in value between the pieces the sabres are looking to move, and the pieces that the bruins would be interested in at that kind of price. frederic falls into that gap

Couture is a big Buffalo fan, I could see him being moved there. I would imagine that deal would have to include half retention to be close though
