Caps do not and should not even think about acquiring Mittelstadt. Outside of this year he's been an undersized, underproducing forward. Let him rot in Buffalo.

He had over 50 points last year too. If he becomes available the Caps should absolutely be in on it, he was just a slow developer.

NoVa ... I'm a caps fan from Buffalo ... I'm well acquainted with Mittelstadt. Take my advice steer clear, very clear. BUF looking to dump him while the iron is hot and make room for much better prospects.

I follow Buffalo sports in general fairly closely as I'm cursed to being a Bills fan, I just simply don't agree. I don't see Mittelstadt as a sell high player, he's been good the last two years. They could very well replace him with better prospects but I wouldn't treat that as him being bad. He'll have RFA status and fits the bill of "young top 6 forward", and since he was one of Buffalo's best passers last year he'd fit well with Ovi. The Caps have to be in on him if they're serious about getting a young top 6 forward since they're in such short supply, and if they can get him for a lower 1st (not their own) you have to pull the trigger.
