Description

Niemela and Robertson are both worth high seconds, timmins in there just to make the money work but we value him at a 4th, regardless this is the most the leafs will pay we will not send 2 1sts because brad has never spent 2 1st in a deadline plus I don’t think he’s worth it, we will not send lily he’s been our best RHD all year and we value him at a 1st, minten and Cowan will not be sent because our prospect pool is already bottom 10 in the league we aren’t making it bottom 5 at the deadline and minten was a early 2nd round pick but has elevated his value to a late 1st, but no one is paying you more for him then what you paid and you guys paid the premium, you’ll be lucky to get what you paid out of him, anyways this is the only player the leafs will move a first for, maybe they add a 3rd if you don’t value the players as highly as we do

Don't think ottawa is actively shopping Chychrun and I don't think an underpayment from a divisional rival and let alone a Ontario rival gets it done. It's good to know this is the max as it clearly shows Chychrun is not viable to Toronto.

the ONLY way i could see OTT trading a top line Dman in his prime to a provincial and DEVISIONAL rival is Nylander 50% retained, so OTT will NEVER trade him to the leafs

i think the total value in a vacuum is about right, but it just doesn't make sense for the sens to trade him for that

That is not worth 2 1st lol. I think that's where the disconnect is: bias leaf fan overvalues their assets not surprising whatsoever

I really don't get it. Is Chychrun worth all that just to demote Giordano this season?. The Leafs are weaker at LW without Robertson. Plus the Leafs lose 7th Dman Timmins.
So is there that much advantage this season for the Leafs? Next year. The Leafs would have Robertson, Timmins and cap, plus the first instead of Chychrun.

I go back to my question, I've asked many recently? Is Chychrun or Tanev or Larsson or Hanifan are going to make a difference to the Leafs fortunes this year? If the answer is no than why give up a bunch of futures ?
Not saying the Leafs are perfect but geez won four of their last five. I would hate to the LeafNation uproar if the had only three of the last five.

Yeah I’m a strong believer in not spending the first this year we aren’t winning anything likely get knocked out in the first round and I hope we do so they can fire Keefe and make a good run next year after a good offseason

Should be an interesting and fun time this season if you're the Leaf GM. We'll see if Trevling is up to the task (I'm doubtful)
Dmen.....Brodie, Klingberg and Giordano gone.....that 10m. Can the Leafs find just as good replacments for let's say at 8m as Benoit and Liljegren get new RFA contracts
Goal: Samsonov at 3.5m. He's replaced by someone cheaper.
Wing. Bertuzzi, McMann and Gregor......7m.....Shouldn't hard to replace 5.5m Bertuzzi with better cheaper version. Only Robertson is due to RFA to be resigned
Centre. Domi at 3m. I would keep him around at about the same price
Matthews and Nylander...their new contracts. 6.2m increase alone as the cap goes about 4.2m

It would be nice if Cowan, Minten and Niemela could make the team in October as good and cheap NHLer....but that would be too much to ask.

I can agree Brodie and Bert won’t be back neither will klingturd domi I’m okay giving him 500k increase but keep him only for 1 year minten should be ready to play center by 25/26 I’m hopeful they both make the team next year I think they gotta with nylanders extension but minten won’t be ready to play center let him take the draws when domi is waived gets him a bit of practice

I'll disagree about Minten. He has to start playing big pro minutes with the Marlies at centre. Matthews, JT, Domi, Kampf and Holmgren...that's enough depth a cntre for next season. Holmberg can certainly play wing too. Robertson looks like he's an NHLer too. So Knies, Robertson and Holmberg....that will be a pretty cheap left wing .
25/26....yea Minten is NHL ready. Tavares and his contract gone, and I think the Leafs might be looking a 2/3 C. Matthews, UFA, Minten, Kampf,,,,Holmberg maybe Domi....that might pretty good too.
