Toffoli is a good player. BUT the Leafs need to upgrade their d group here. You just traded a guy getting 22 mins a game for a guy getting 16 minutes a game. Brodie should be closer to 19. But he is still a top 4 dman. Seelers is a very good bottom pair guy.

Overall by trading Brodie, you made our team worse.

I think Sharangovich might be a shooting% anomaly unfortunately. I still like him as a player but it appears his play in most areas and most of his metrics have actually dropped this year compared to last.

More PP time and a 20% shooting % compared to 10 last year is hiding that tho. (in terms of xGoals this year he's at 20 goals on 12 xGoals, last year at 13 goals on 17 xGoals). He's always had a good shot so may stay high, but I think his improvement is overblown. (and Toffoli imo is the better player still)

One of the best penalty killers we have had in years. Can play center. Takes up a lot of ice with his length, long stick, quickness. Can play fast with Jack. Is a good guy. Even if you shaved 20% off goal total, he still has tons of value.

I agree with all of those points. I liked Yegor and still do for all those reasons. However from what I’ve seen his “breakout” and improvement may be overblown based on the shooting% and pp time he’s getting now.

I didn’t say he was. But because of Klingberg being on LTIR they have room to bring in his amount of contract and still be cap compliant
