Firstly, I don't think Chychrun is moving until maybe the summer. Staios would need an offer to blow him away to move him now and this definitely isn't that.

I've heard the same, but just because he might not want him on his team it doesn't mean he doesn't treat Chychrun like an asset. It's all about timing, and the right timing to trade him would be the summer, unless it's an offer he can't refuse.

That’s fair, I see Bourgault as a first since that’s where he was drafted, and Ceci is mostly a cap casualty but it does allow you to have a decent group with 3LD and 3RD plus some cap room if you don’t flip him which could go as high as a second.

So basically it’s two late firsts a second and a third for a player you gave up a first and two seconds to get. I can see why you’d say no but think the value is relatively fair.

As for the timing, you’d likely be able to extract more value moving him before the trade deadline since you’re selling two playoff runs at his cheap cap hit as opposed to only 1 run if he’s moved at the draft

Seems like the best value that you'd get out of Chych would be around TDL with some retention (could imagine the return being around the value of ~3 1sts).
