I wouldn't sleep on McLeod. Guy is an absolute animal in the dot who over the last 3 years ranks 3rd in FO%. The two guys in front of him.....are not longer playing (Bergeron & Toews). This season he's tied for 5th on NJD in even strength points despite being 17th on NJD in A/TOI. The problem for McLeod is that he gets basically no PP time and only has 6 minutes all year. Kid could be a solid middle-6 center if given more opportunity.

Appreciate you pumping his tires. He was vanilla in nj until ranger series last year. Has continued this yr. He's top FO guy in the league. Super important in OT. Wheels like crazy, some snarl and doesn't give a f@ck about what the other teams think, he's a bull in their China shop. Unless they are blown away he's staying

NJD passes on that but does the deal proposed below it. McLeod is too valuable to the team and we have nobody in the system to replace what he does. Even if his offensive breakout this year is a fluke, he’s still an excellent bottom 6 shutdown C and exactly what the devils need. Plays with a ton of speed too. Not that McLeod has a bunch more real life value than Ullmark, but NJD would just much rather give up other assets

I love watching him play. I was hoping with all the young pieces NJD had that McLeod would be available via trade last off-season and Boston could jump in and grab him. Underrated player in my opinion that gets overshadowed with all the bigger name talent NJD has. I could see him getting to a 50+ point center if he were up in the top 6 and getting normal PP minutes.

I swear I have never seen Michael McLeod lose a puck battle. Every time he plays it in the corner he always comes out with it.
