I think you're trying to tell me that the Leafs would value Matheson more than Lilly and McCabe... To which, that's just not true...

no, im saying in a vaccum, he is better than them (overall) . To the leafs right now, with their situation and who they have on the team, matheson is not as valuable (role, the fact he is a left D, etc).

see it this way, if reilly goes down with a career ending injury, matheson would come in to play top minutes on the leafs.

You wouldnt want mccabe to be your #1d. and lilly doesnt have the offebsive flair too abd is still young and learning.

makes more sense?

You clearly lack reading comprehension skills.

''he's mid'' thanks for the detailed argument.

for some team matheson would.make no sense to target, for some it would. ''he's a #5 on a competitive team ''

not because he is a redundancy in toronto that he would be for some other team.

I get your point in that instance...

But tbh, if Rielly gets hurt with a season ending injury - career ending injury, Leafs would put all their young guys and tank as hard as they could for Sam Dickinson... And other prospects form all their pending UFAs

Habs have no need to oberpay that hard for Knies. We have Slafkovsky who is already better at almost everything

Well, Monahan is better than Knies. He has been pretty mid this season (wich is normal for a rookie)

The point is, calling Monahan and Matheson mid is ironic when the other piece ars Klingberg and Knies
