Well I remember when krech and bergy both released their “retirement” statements that both went on to mention that they both missed being away from their family for so long and that an 82 game season was just too long. Or something a long the lines which my grandpa and I both thought was a little fishy.

Not saying it’s gonna happen but Wouldn’t that be a slap in the face to a lot of teams if bruins clear grzelcyk or someone and bergy and krech sign right before the contract deadline. I’d love in terms of we don’t need to spend any assets at the TDL and in terms of bringing in 2 mentors for poitras to work with.

lol. I was literally thinking about this yesterday. Bergy could lace up tomorrow and be a top centre.
Anyway as a Leafs fan I sure hope he doesn’t. But how can anyone not cheer for the guy.

And yeah, Poitras would be well served learning from the best 2 way centre since Yzerman.

I'd be very surprised if Bergeron came out of retirement

Man I keep thinking about this. I'd be very surprised, but I'm holding out some hope against all odds that he's watching this team and thinking how fun it would be to join for another playoff run. Wouldn't have the wear and tear of a full 82 games either, and would only be away from his family for a few months.

Yeah IIRC Krejci said he wanted to still play but his body wouldn't hold up over an 82 game season.

Especially since poitras is already a 2 way inclined player he hustles hard and isn’t scared to get in dirty areas, even if bergy just returned as an assistant coach one day like Chris Kelly I think it would do lots for his development

The last few teams to set the win’s record went on to win back to back cups, if bergy is a superstitious man he might be inclined to try for one more
