Best case scenario Geekie takes a step, worst case he fills in as 3c or 4c when Kadri and Backlund take 1&2 after Lindholm leaves.

I don't think Lindholm is going to fetch an amazing return after the past 2 seasons and I'm managing expectations.

When Horvat was traded he had way more points than Lindholm does currently, he's younger AND he was the captain of the Canucks. I think a Pick and Geekie and/or Prospect is a fair return but that prospect won't be Lysell, Lohrei, or Poitras. At best it'll be Merkulov or Brett Harrison.

Geekie has little value. Boston got him for free because he wasn't qualified. His value is probably similar to what Beauvillier was worth, a 5th. If the season ended today Boston would a 31st oa.

So you're saying Lindholm (retained to 2.4 million) is worth 31st oa + a 5th? I think that is absurd.

For all the crapping on Geekie, you realize his advanced stats are actually favorable compared to Lindholm offensively per 60 outside of his faceoff percentage. Better PP/60, Corsi, and Fenwick. He’s not a name, but if you look at him objectively … there is a lot to like.
