Why would DeBrusk agree to an extention to go to a lottery team and why would Montreal want to pay to sign a UFA middle-6 winger who turns 28 at the beginning of next season?

Habs decline. I think both those guys are available, although Struble's play is driving up his price right now. DeBrusk at 28, just does not fit what we are looking for. Bruins may find this to be an over pay but if you are asking for both guys I think the price is Poitras.

Should be an easy accept for the Blues

Personally I think Struble's value is around a 1st right now, because he's so young and already one of our best defensemen, there so much potential with him plus he's still on his ELC so he's incredibly cheap rn. As for Savard I don't think Montreal should be trying to trade him this season because of how bad our defense looks without him. Mathematically we're still in the playoff hunt although the odds we end anywhere near a spot are less than 1% if you ask me, but Savard is a great veteran to have helping mentor the younger guys like Struble, Barron, Harris, Guhle, etc. plus he's got another year left so there's no rush to move him. Don't hate the idea of Debrusk as a hab but if we did acquire him I'd either give him a 1-2 year contract this offseason or trade a late round pick for him because his contract is a bit much for how good he's been this season so that weighs down his value.
