Description
I know it won't last long, but we 1st in the NHL! But the question is should we keep the team the way it is, or trade for our biggest need which is a 2C. I personally think Lindholm is a good piece, he fits our system really well with his two-way game.

I'm not so confident on the trade, I constructed it similar to the Eichel deal. I doubt Lindholm even resigns, if he doesn't its fine. Also not to sure about the PP and PK as well.
Transactions

  1. Lucius, Chaz
  2. Stanley, Logan

  4. Choix de 2e ronde en 2025 (WPG)
Détails additionnels:
I'm not confident in this deal, constructed it similar to the Eichel trade. We clearly have no room for Lucius and Stanley on this team, so I think we deal them to a rebuilder like Calgary.

Only with the second. Offer Lucious and a first, it should be sufficient. If they value Stanley for some reason, include him.

The question is does Winnipeg really want to commit the long term money it would take Lindholm to stay. If the answer is no, Henrique or others would make sense. Cheaper to acquire and fills the short term need

Lindholm seems to be the best choice out there for 2C and I am willing to do a serious offer. Others like Henrique would not be an improvement so no to mid line forwards unless injuries happen.

Like the move you did to move Iafallo to the 3rd line and Appleton to the fourth. How Schmidt and Samberg are playing together, I would not break them up.

Namestnikov got 2 more assists last night, are we sure a 2C add is necessary? Guess you need depth for a playoff run BUT maybe someone who'd be less costly would be the way to go, personally I'd be calling up SJ about Granlund.

See that -$1,307,858 under cap space…. That’s why Schmidt is always included in these trades
Not giving up that much for Lindholm not extended.

No…I’m fed up with the penny pinching crap.
Namestnikov is not a long term 2C option regardless how good of a year he is having.. he’s a bottom 6 winger.
Granlund is another waste of assets move…. Just pay the price to finally fix the issue.
Everyone say… I don’t want to trade a 1st…well, hopefully that 1st is #32, so who cares about it. If we get Lindholm, Lucius isn’t as big a need, and paying to dump…yes dump…. Schmidt and his anchor contract is def needed to work out extensions in this offseason… personally, I’d also move Namestnikov to, so I could use his 2m for extensions.

K so make the post where you dump Schmidt, find a trade partner for Namestnikov and acquire this long term answer at 2C cause to do that you're going to be moving way more assets then you think.

If acquired is Lindholm signing in Winnipeg to at least justify the assets lost? Also whats his next contract if he was willing to extend, do the Jets really need another $8M or more 29 year old guy with 55 and 37's extensions kicking in??

The Jets are doing good and the vibes are great, making as many moves as you want could have a negative impact on the room. For years the Caps would make a big splash at the TDL and it didn't make much difference, the year they won the cup they only acquired Michal Kempny, the Jets might be better off staying the course or doing something minor rather then making a big move at the TDL.

Personally I think they need an upgrade on the defense more then at 2C if they're to make a bigger name add, this is doesn't look like the defense of a cup contender.

I don't think the Jets should acquire Lindholm for long-term, its just a rental as you mentioned.

Well I don't think the Jets are in a position to spend high end assets on rentals due to the being in Winnipeg factor, if they're trading a 1st, former 1st(Lucius), a 2nd and throwing in Stanley it better be for someone with some term or some RFA control.

Like would that package not get Middlestadt?

If they can't get a 2C with term or a guy with some RFA years left they should grab someone with a lower acquisition cost like Granlund or Henrique OR just stand pat.

I see Namestnikov has another goal tonight, he's on pace for a 50 point season which is pretty solid imo, I only see the need for another center to have some injury insurance more then for an upgrade.
