Thank you. I get the Jagr comp, but I see more Blake Wheeler.

Top 40 Rankings with explanations
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>drambui</b></div><div>I just realized Connely is listed at 155 pound and 6.1.
That is NOT the shape of a hockey player!
(also as always a good read, the effort you put is always appreciated and its nice to see how your board devellop trought time. i remember last year you were one of the first to predict the top 4 accurately.</div></div>
I always ignore size, as seen with Benson, DeBrincat, Caufield, it doesn't matter anymore.
As for 2023:
1. Bedard: It was obvious
2. Carlsson: A few days before the draft, it was said that Verbeek was high on Carlsson and Michkov and ignored Fantilli. Carlsson made the most sense.
3. Fantilli: Columbus was high on Will Smith, but you can't pass up on Fantilli's talent.
4. Smith: Smith has connections to Grier's son.

Corey Pronman's April Ranking
I don't love Pronman's takes, but you have to respect it. 2022 he was the only one that had Wright going 4th and everyone called him crazy.
Maybe he sees something we don't.
Guys too early:
Yakemchuk (defensively there's some holes, but the physicality is there)
Sennecke (point production isn't enough to put him at #12, given the top 20)
Eriksson (don't know much about him, seems to carry the puck for way too long, leaving him with no options)
Badinika (one of the bigger risers, I wouldn't have him as high as #27 yet)
Guys too late:
Demidov (could challenge Celebrini for #1)
Eiserman
Connelly (don't overlook the off-ice issues, he's top 5 based off talent alone)
Boisvert (though I understand this one, he's had an up and down season)
Sahlin Wallenius (and Brannstrom comp? he's more Pavel Mintyukov)
Guys spot on:
Levshunov (I have him at #3, but could honestly be #2, I did have him at #1 for a majority of the year)
Lindstrom (I don't get the Kreider comp, he's more Hintz. But injuries and a underwhelming playoff performance definitely dwindled his stock)
Chernyshov (some people have him low cause of inconsistency, I have him around this spot because of the upside)
Guys missing:
Teddy Stiga: Second best skater in the draft and best defensive forward in the draft.
EJ Emery: He and Elick are pretty much the same player, Emery brings less offense.
Hagen Burrows: Underrated two-way forward that just transitioned out of high school.
Dean Letourneau: Another high-schooler, at least 1 or 2 get ranked in the first round every year.
Clarke Caswell: He was a top 10 player in the draft coming into the season. A very good player still, just got jumped by other players.

To add to your Iginla explanation, the Canadiens are actually really high on Iginla and have spoken to him in person multiple times.
The Sharks and Blackhawks are high on Levshunov. Blackhawks also really love Dickinson, which makes zero sense for them.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>Parekh won't be around at anything past 12 in my opinion.
You also have Eiserman going much higher than I do.
Artamonov will probably go in the first round as well.
I could see a team selecting Demidov first but not the sharks. The sharks need a Franchise center. I could see someone like Arizona or Ottawa taking Demidov first overall with the center depth they both have. Although Arizona probably takes Celebrini because he would a savior for the franchise.</div></div>
I could see a team overlooking Parekh's defensive woes.
Eiserman could go in the top 5 based off analytics, but at the same time I could also see him falling to 12th like you mentioned.
Like I said in the Artamonov explanation, he will more than likely go in the first round, but there's always that one guy that everyone expects to go in round 1 that somehow falls to round 2.
Also the Sharks are drafting Levshunov in this. Anaheim would be the one selecting Demidov. I also don't see the Sharks drafting Celebrini either, but I do agree that Arizona or Ottawa could draft Demidov at #1.

Mock with some Hot Takes Top 50 With Big Analysis
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AStovetop</b></div><div>I mean this is certainly a hot take lol. And I'm not sure any NHL scout would agree. I think this is like people ranking Michkov over Bedard last year.
From a Sharks perspective, Levshunov is the right pick at 3, but that 16th overall pick doesn't make much sense. You said Sharks need a defensive forward, when they're stacked at that. They have Zetterlund (not a prospect) but they have Bystedt and Edstrom who are both 200 ft centers, as well as Cardwell and Graf who are 200 ft. wingers. Not to mention Eklund is unreal defensively.
Other notes, i think Parekh, Catton, Helenius and Greentree would be HUGE steals with where you have them. I can't see Parekh or Catton dropping out of the top 10 (could see both as high as top 5), and Helenius and Greentree as top 16</div></div>
Thank you for the pointers about Bystedt and Edstrom. I haven't paid much attention to Bystedt.

Boisvert is if anything a reach. I believe people are overreacting on his recent play, at times he's really good, but there are times where he's unnoticeable. Stiga is actually a big steal, I have him at #11 on my board.

I do believe however, a team like Arizona or Anaheim would go for Demidov at #1. Arizona cause they don't fear the Russian talent (given the Simashev and But picks early on). Anaheim cause they have such a stacked prospect pool, especially forward wise, they can afford to take the risk.

I understand your point about the north south movement, but Parekh and Yakemchuk aren't worth taking 4th overall. I see them going between 6th-15th. If Levshunov is there at 4th he will be the pick, but Silayev is just as good.
