What an absolute waste of assets. Timmins is way better than Lybushkin, and nothing in the Minnesota trade is worth what we are giving up. A bottom 6 forward and a 3rd pair defender doesn't do anything for us.

Minnesota declines this, btw. Middleton is a second pair guy. Foligno is a piece that teams give up LOADS for to have on their third line in the playoffs.

Middleton is similar to McCabe. It's not a good time if he's your best "Shutdown defender". This doesn't make TO better just more of the same. They still end up having the same problems.

i agree with you that these are not the types of moves toronto should be making. however, i think you are undervaluing foligno and middleton. both are very good hockey players

Sure, but do they put TO over the top? Is Middleton going to be a game changing shutdown defender TO absolutely needs? No. Is Foligno going to impact the bottom 6 in a way that changes it into a force? Absolutely not. Do they improve the depth? Yes but this isn't the year to throw all your chips in the middle. Better moves in the summer could have changed things but now it's clear this team is missing a lot throwing all the young assets we have away to make minor improvements isn't wise.b

Love the targets. I think this would make the team much better. No one listens to RipNasty.lol. Troll on every post. I think it would cost us Cowan over Robertson to get Foligno though with a new 5 year deal he had at a good AAV. I think I would still do it though

The blues will keep Oskar and re-sign him for a cheap contract extension most likely. He's a likable player in our bottom 6
