Adam Henrique Plus

Équipe: 2023-24 Jets de Winnipeg
Date de création initiale: 28 déc. 2023
Publié: 28 déc. 2023

Description
With this lineup, I could legitimately see this team getting out of the central division if everyone stay healthy and if Hellebuyck steals a few games in the playoffs.
Transactions
1.
WPG
  1. Henrique, Adam (2 500 000 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
As it currently stands, the Jets have so many quality options at forward it's impressive. Adding Henrique means adding another player who's on pace for roughly 25 goals, adding another forward who's good at both ends of the ice and adding another guy who can kill penalty every night.
ANA
  1. Kupari, Rasmus
  2. Choix de 5e ronde en 2024 (WPG)
  3. Choix de 2e ronde en 2025 (WPG)
2.
WPG
  1. Gostisbehere, Shayne
Détails additionnels:
This trade would only be made if the Red Wings end up selling.
DET
  1. Choix de 2e ronde en 2024 (MTL)
  2. Choix de 4e ronde en 2026 (WPG)
Détails additionnels:
Is this anywhere near enough?
3.
WPG
  1. Choix de 5e ronde en 2024 (CHI)
Détails additionnels:
For the 25-25 season, assuming none of Tanev or Hanifin is/are extended, the Flames only seem to have Weegar and Andersson who can play a lot of minutes, so Schmidt and his bad contract would be added to this. Plus, the Flames add a reclamation project in Heinola and a 3rd is always nice.

Schmidt isn't a terrible player at all, he's just overpayed by over 2M.
CGY

Just simplify this mess by trading for Lindholm…he’d be a better fit and is younger
..also…completely delete that DET trade..Jets have less than zero need for Gost

Detroit takes that. They should be selling with how they have been playing lately. More likely to get 1st overall than make playoffs in my opinion.

Probably will. People thought I was crazy when I was saying at the start of the season we aren't trading our first cause it will be a lottery pick.....

The Jets aren't trading a roster player they recently acquired with team control for a rental. It would need to be a completely futures deal. Henrique doesn't waive for Winnipeg anyways.

Ghost isn't needed or wanted by the Jets. He isn't better than any current Jets defenseman in the top 6.

The Jets can just ride out Schmidt's contract.

You probably will, We just can't stay healthy, Once we get our injured players back. More go back on the IR. Sad to say this team is toast for this season.

Detroit will still be in the playoff running they just hit a rough patch while playing their 3rd and 4th goalies. Reimer has been a train wreck. Once Lyon and Husso return healthy they’ll start winning some games again.

I don't think it's quite that simple. I feel the team as a whole doesn't play a string enough defensive game. We are drawing penalties and scoring goals but that's about it. We are 3rd last in hits. 20th in face-off win percentage. 27th in goals against. Take the 3rd most penalties and have the 16th ranked PK but not long ago we were 25th, alot of teams really close in that area right now. 25th for high danger for percentage. I could go on but I've probably already dragged this on too much.
Basically we are doing some things better than last year, mainly offense, but need alot of improvements on the defensive side of the game. Also I don't think that's all defensemen either. Our forwards need to commit to playing a full 200 foot game. If they do that and come back and support, that will allow our defensemen to play better positionally since they won't be required to have to try to do too much.
Obviously injuries and losing a couple goalies doesn't help but the team in front needs to be significantly better.

I remember saying to just look at the roster compared to other playoff teams. JT Compher Fabbri Perron 2nd line was never a contender

Would be a good third line. Compher can hang on the second line if he has guys like Debrincat and Kane to carry the offense. Having Raymond and Fabbri is not ideal. I'm at the point where I'm ready to sell alot of players and move on. Get a clean slate, sign some UFAs for a couple years and just keep drafting to build the team. Also quit drafting LHD, like man.

Detroit seems to not have any type of structure in place. Forwards don't seem to know how to support the D or play 200 foot hockey.

The D gives the puck away so much it's embarrassing. Why do they always clear the puck to the middle of the ice?

Even Seider does this. It sets up great scoring chances for their opponents. None of the goalies are any good. Reimer gives up so many bad goals.

San Jose came back on this team so easily. I could see the Wings players literally quitting.

Husso can't control his rebounds. When Lyon is your best goalie you have problems. But he's not used to playing so much which is likely why he's injured.

I'm not seeing anything special about Lalonde. Or Boughner for that matter. It's like teams have figured the Red Wings out and they can't or won't adapt.

I've never seen a team use so many excuses when they lose and I'm hearing it in the CFACGM comments.

Red Wings are losing games because they're not a good hockey team. You look at the roster and they should be doing much better. They're underachieving.

But the team does what it always does. Feed into the excuses. Why are the Leafs not crying about playing in Sweden and then coming back to a compressed schedule?

Is Yzerman going to just stand by and listen to the players and coaches continue crying about being worn out? In December?

Hey Red Wings. You're not the only team in the NHL who has to play through injuries!

Detroit was never supposed to be a playoff team!!!!

In the past 2 seasons Yzerman has added Chariot (32), Ghost (30), Holl (31), Petry (36), Maatta (29), Lyon (31) and Reimer (35). I'm sorry but you don't add all those players to the same team and expect to go to the playoffs. they are little more than placeholders.

They were supposed to compete for a playoff spot. Yzerman said as much. You're making more excuses. You don't sign and trade for all those vets, sign Patrick Kane and get to say you never expected to compete for a playoff spot. Not buying it. Nice try! 🤭

In the offseason every single team in the NHL says the goal is to compete for a playoff spot. Except for a couple of the contenders who say the goal is to win a cup so competing for a play spot is a given. Even Greer and Richardson said it at the start of the season. Now if you think about it Yzerman's plan is working to perfection and with a previous post in this thread you acknowledged it. Unknowingly but you still acknowledged it! When you said:

The team isn't tanking but it's really hard to win with the defense and goaltending they have it's really hard to win.
