It's going to take far more than a late 1st and 5th round pick to move Ryan Johansen. And no Calgary isn't taking on 2.5 years x $8,000,000 on Johansen plus retaining on Lindholm. And this poor attempt on acquiring Lindholm is easily beat by other teams.

Say you can’t read contracts without saying it. RyJo’s cap hit while in COL is $4M, RyJo contract is up at the end of next season. Dude is still on pace for 23 goals which is more than what Lindholm is on pace for.

CF is hilarious, no GM is paying another team to take a guy that even though he is struggling a tad is a $4M cap hit but still on pace for a 20+ goal season.

$4,000,000 in real money isn't the issue, Teams are still taking on his $8,000,000 cap hit and most teams are up against the cap. Cap hit is the issue and you will pay to unload it.

You really need to do some research before spouting off, when Johansen was traded to Colorado the Predators retained 50% of his cap hit so his cap hit now is only $4M, still not great value but for what he's producing now its not that bad.

Johansen already has 4 mil retained by the Preds. That's all the Avalanche pay him. Add Ritchie and it's good, Johansen would actually be useful for a year or two to fill a spot at center behind Kadri and Backlund until one of the young guys (which would include Ritchie) is ready to play center in the NHL.

Bro they aren’t taking on $8M, Nashville is on the hook for $4M this year and next in cap do you understand what that means? It has nothing to do with real money, when COL traded Galchenyuk for him a condition of the trade was NSH retained 50%. Even if you’re talking $8M over 2 years it’s not that either because COL has paid $1.7M of his cap hit this year.

Then offer him to someone else or keep him. His contract is a burden to the Flames
